45 70
« on: February 18, 2010, 05:21:33 AM »
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

This addiction is killing me.  Just hit "Buy it Now" at Gunbroker for a new 45/70 22" Handi with wood stock.  Time I pay my FFL and freight it is $270, probably too much but I have seen people buying used ones for a lot more.  Other problem is I am low bidder on a used 45 70, maybe someone will out bid me in the next two days.  I think when I sight the 45/70 in it will be at this laptop so I will stop this foolishness.  Wife thinks I'm nuts, just went to range to shoot my (3) .224 cal handis in 10" of melting snow.

I don't think you paid too much.  Locally, they're going for about $300.00, give or take a few bucks.

If you've never had one in that caliber, you're going to love it.

Hate to tell ya buddy, it don't end. After I retired and joined here in Jan of 09 I had a Nef 22 hornet and H&R 158 357. Now I have
19 complete rifles home with a 22-250 in the mail and 6 shotties on the rack. Its like a itch you can't reach and I get the shakes
everytime I click into the classifieds or Gunbroker and a sweat at the gun shows.
Best of luck with the 45/70 thats not a bad price out the door and it needs a little brother 45lc next. Keep the wife shooting hers
and soon the daughter will want one too and even "Bandit" will bark everytime he sees a Handi. Good luck and good shooting,  Fred

I have one complete 45-70 Handi that I just put a blonde stock set on and it looks sharp. I also have a BC barrel that fits the same frame. I was thinking about selling one of them, but can't bring myself to do it. You're bound to love yours, too. Just wait and see, all these smart guys can't be wrong.  :)

I just made Senior Member, no one has ever called me Senior before. ???

Thanks, Dinny
