This is the Opus Magnus, the whole enchilada if you please, of our current state of existence. We are no longer a society that values personal freedom; rather, we view capital as public property. More accurately, we view the world as “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is mine”.
When we as Americans began accepting Welfare and charity without hesitation, eventually looking at these privileges as entitements, even rights, we began trodding down the path of our own destruction.
I was speaking with my teenagers last night about life, liberty, and the pursuit of property, their role in the coming World, and my dependence on them as our last, best hope. I think that they are beginning to get it. At least, they are listening.
I bought
John Adams, the HBO special, for $32 at Sams. It is very handy to teach kids, just know your history before hand so that you can frame things appropriately.
PS... Some fine chap posted this link a few weeks ago
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpUXGOqO1r0 excellent!!!! This too I use as 10 minute family education segments about once per week with my teens. WOW!!!! These are also very helpful. There are 43 of them, you can segment them into individual lessons and have a brief discussion on each video.
It is up to us.
