I have a small fox problem... I have so many they will come into my yard during daylight hours to hunt my chickens! These things have killed 14 guineas and at least as many chickens in the last two years. Just to be clear though, my chickens are safely cooped at night. I can't take it anymore. I have some trap sets in the woods, but no luck. I live in flat country, so the trails are everywhere and criss/cross constantly. I would set them in places around the house I have seen them move through, but I have a cat and a small dog (terrier), and know one of them would get pinched. How/where do these things sleep? How do I identify active trails and target them... Please keep in mind I have a lot of trails and the most prominent ones are deer trails. I know my woods pretty well, I can't find a den, and its too wet/swampy, I can't find where they are devouring my chickens, I can follow sparse trails of feathers, then they die out. I can only assume they are moving a long way. I have sets on these trails, they are older traps, well seasoned, and I think well hidden. Do I need an attractant? Dirt hole set in heavy leaf cover possible to do effectively? Do you accompany with an attractant? Does anyone have any pics of their sets? Thanks for any help guys. Sadly season is almost over, but I want one last shot at revenge and need help!
