The wife and two kids are at Camp Perry again.  I'm stuck here in Germany.  Last time my wife went she never made it to the CMP store which just absolutely left me flabbergasted!  So yesterday she called and said "What kind of rifle did you want?"  As my pulse quickened all I could say was "Let me get online real fast and see what they have."  So I did and I settled on one of the rebuilt "special" grade M1 Garand rifles.  I told her that and all she said was "okay, well, I'll look and see what they have".  Oh man, oh man, oh man I really hope my safe is about to increase its inventory by "1"!!!  Of course I won't get to see it until this summer but I can always hope right?  The "special" grade have new barrels, new walnut, all that other stuff too.  Basically they look like an issue rifle.


Thought I'd air out some hopes here...

Don't have to look at gun porn... Guns are allowed over here.  Just have to put up with the regulations and cost.

In Germany I have:

Tikka T3 Lite .308
Steyr-Mannlicher Pro Hunter .376 Steyr
Beretta 686 12 ga.
Colt King Cobra .357
S&W Performance Center .357

In US I have a bunch more including a Marlin .45-70 Cowboy, a G2 6.8 SPC Carbine, a 14 inch G2 .44 barrel and a Marlin 60 that haven't even been shot.  Heck... I haven't even SEEN the last three.  Just ordered them and had them sent to the in-laws place.

I guess I REALLY SHOULD change my name to something other than "NO GUNS HERE" since I did end up getting some guns "HERE".

Well, she didn't get me the "special" grade but she did get what she descibed as the best "service" grade rifle in the place.  Almost new wood.  New barrel with same gauge as the Criterion barrel on the "special" grade.  So hopefully it'll be a good shooter.  She said she'd send me some pics tonight.  I can't wait.

All you have to do to import normal guns is the ATF Form 6.  Takes about 4-6 weeks for approval.  They are good for a year.  A Colonel friend of mine just imported over 30 rifles and shotgun about a month ago.  I'm not too worried about that part of bringing them all back.  What worries me is putting them in my household goods shipment.  I'll probably have to make a special trip to bring them in as part of my luggage.
