I don't what to start a political thing or anything
« on: February 19, 2010, 11:45:47 AM »
I saw this and i had to saw something.

A new method of identifying gun-related crimes was signed into law on Saturday by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Gun Crime Identification Act was passed by both the California State Assembly and the State Senate, and received the Governor's stamp of approval on order to provide police with a new tool at their disposal to determine which guns are involved in crimes.

The Gun Crime Identification Act (AB 1471) will make it possible for police to identify the gun involved in a crime without the gun. The new law requires that guns will "microstamp" certain information on bullets fired by that gun, such as the serial number, so that the bullet will identify the gun used. This information will be available immediately to law enforcement officers, rather than first having to acquire the gun and comparing certain markings on the bullet casing that is unique to that gun. The new technology can result in faster and more accurate identification of perpetrators in many crimes that involve guns.

The president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Paul Helmke, applauds Governor Schwarzenegger for "taking a bold step to solve gun murders in California. This ground-breaking law gives police officers a powerful tool to apprehend armed criminals and gang members before they strike again." He continued, "The Governor has set a new national standard for the rest of the country to follow."

The law will require all semi-automatic weapons manufactured and sold in California to "microstamp" the make, model and serial number of the gun on each bullet casing starting in 2010. The new technology will be most helpful in crimes where the only evidence available is the bullet casing, such as in the case of drive-by shootings that are common in gang-related crimes.

Assemblyman Mike Feuer, who was formerly a Los Angeles City Councilmember, wrote The Gun Crime Identification Act. Supporters of the bill included such law enforcement organizations as the California Police Chiefs Association, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, and the Orange County Chiefs' and Sheriff's Association as well as 65 police chiefs and sheriffs throughout California.

I am a Democratic  and i am with the O man cuase he trying to make things better and it seem like there always talking about how he going to take Our guns away. BUT it's Republican  that seem to be doing it. The 1968 gun control acted, the banning of a lot of the cool Assault weapons, and now this?  I wanted a Streetsweeper shotgun but it a DESTRUCTIVE DEVICE so it's going to happen. I saw some of those tea party people outside my work talking about how The O is takeing away our rights and i looked them in the eye and said " like how you people took away our guns back in the 90'?"

Anyways, that why i live in FL and not California cuase everything bad comes from there and California sucks!!!!!

i was born at the navy air station in pensacola and i have live in FL for 21 years. I am 22.

the bill restricts ammunition sales in California was signed by Governor Schwarzennegger(R).

The bill will take effect on February 1, 2011. His comments are below:

“To the Members of the California State Assembly: I am signing Assembly Bill 962.

This measure would require vendors of handgun ammunition to keep a log of information on handgun ammunition sales, store ammunition in a safe and secure manner, and require the face to-face transfer of ammunition sales.

Although I have previously vetoed legislation similar to this measure, local governments have demonstrated that requiring ammunition vendors to keep records on ammunition sales improves public safety. These records have allowed law enforcement to arrest and prosecute persons who have no business possessing firearms and ammunition: gang members, violent parolees, second and third strikers, and even people previously serving time in state prison for murder.

Utilized properly, this type of information is invaluable for keeping communities safe and preventing dangerous felons from committing crimes with firearms.

Moreover, this type of record keeping is no more intrusive for law abiding citizens than similar laws governing pawnshops or the sale of cold medicine. Unfortunately, even the most successful
local program is flawed; without a statewide law, felons can easily skirt the record keeping requirements of one city by visiting another. Assembly Bill 962 will fix this problem by
mandating that all ammunition vendors in the state keep records on ammunition sales.

As Governor, I have sought the appropriate balance between public safety and the right to keep and bear arms. I have signed important public safety measures to regulate the sale and transfer of .50 caliber rifles, instituted the California Firearms License Check program, and promoted the use of microstamping technology in handguns. I have also vetoed many pieces of legislation that sought to place unreasonable restrictions and burdens on firearms dealers and ammunition vendors.

Assembly Bill 962 reasonably regulates access to ammunition and improves public safety without placing undue burdens on consumers. For these reasons, I am pleased to sign this bill.”

Mayor Bloomberg's racist gun policies and just war on guns he is also a Republican.  he has the aggressive "stop and frisk" policy.

Police have stopped and frisked more than 130,000 people in the third quarter of 2009, a 15 percent jump from the same period 2008, according to a report released by NYPD.

Over the quarter, police stopped and interrogated 137,894 people, 93 percent of whom were men, and 58 percent were black.

Hispanic men made up 31 percent of those who were stopped and frisked, and white men were stopped just 9 percent of the time, according to the report.

Under the Stop and Frisk program, officers can stop, question and pat-down people they deem suspicious.

Police also keep information about the people they frisk in a database.

Racial profiling--in New York? Hardly a surprise--racism, after all, was a prime motivating factor behind the Sullivan Act.

Like the Sullivan Act, Bloomberg's efforts to crack down on Walking While Dark-Skinned is presented as being in the interest of "public safety."

It would seem that Mayor Bloomberg is an enthusiastic advocate of a policy of "No Guns for Negroes.".

Yeah i have been Stopped  and Frisk( was with some frineds and one unknow to me was steal). The found my pocket knifes(i have a outdoors life and my CRKT M16 that i both carry sometimes) but it was no probelm and they gave my stuff back.  I love the cops and they have a hard job. If i lived in NYC or California  i would be in jail for haveing a weaopn on me.

so yes, i see that Republican seem to be the one takeing rights away but they are away said it the Democratic  that are doing it. Yeah Democratic have done some stuff but it been on both side they been up to no good.

Jamal,

You poor confused child.  The O man is doing more to socialize this country than anyone else in history.

He and others like Arnold want a one world government where they rule. They dont care about the people.
We are cattle to them. Worker ants. Drones.

The USA has been going anti-gun, anti-freedom for decades now.

Now that they are all in power, they are taking power from the people as fast as they can.

BTW there are NO assault weapons. The only assault rifle ever built was the AK-47, which has not been built since 1961.

Its a catch phase the liberal media uses to demonize all firearms.

Unfortunately, I live in a state of dismay in the state of California.  The "Republican" Governor we elected has obviously been sleeping with a liberal Democrat far to long.  Yes, he signed the ammo bill that was introduced and passed by the Democrat controlled State Legislature. Which by the way have always controlled the legislature and so the state is now on the verge of bankruptcy once again. Now here's another joke on CA; Governor Moonbeam (AKA Jerry Brown) wants to be governor again. There is also a movement, and I hope it's not just a bowl movement, to overturn this piece of crappy legislation.  Don't feel sorry for us though because we gun owners have sat back and just taken this BS for years.  Yes, we piss and moan about it but we don't fight back. There are more then enough gun owners in California to throw out all of the incumbents (De Leon and Lowenthal first on the list) who voted for this bill and any other gun control legislation.  Oh by the way for those not familiar with California it is not far from anywhere to drive to another state to buy all the ammo we want.  Think I'll set up an ammo store in Stateline, NV and franchise to Yuma, Quartzite, Tahoe, Reno, Asland etc.....  See our legislators who are so much more intelligent then we are, know the criminals do not know where our state boundaries are so they will never find the ammunition they want.

Unfortunately many black Americans just voted for him because they wanted to see a black man in the White House. They could have cared less if he was qualified or not.  Well, diversity is great, but this guy is an idiot.  He has no clue how to run our country and had no experience to begin with.  I think now many black Americans are seeing him now for what he really is.  A socialist who taxes and spends like no other...jamaldog, I hope you can see through his color to see what he really stands for.  The only change he wants is the coins in your pocket.   We should have let those big banks fail period.  They are not giving customers a bail out.  Now, he has not gone after guns yet, but his term is not over yet ...He will do it, I'm afraid it will be the ammo he goes after....You can have all the guns you want, but ammo will be what he and the rest of the gun grabbers target.

yes, many wanted a black man in the  white house. But after bush many did not want a 2nd bush so they voted for The O.  also I know i did not want Sarah Louise Palin (not qualified, a idiot, and quits when it get hard) or McCain(there something about him that i don't like) in there.  at least bush did not make you feel uneasy.  McCain makes me think of darth vader.

Anyways we see what happens. history will play out who was who.

Sounds like there will now be a black market for ammo in Kalifornia.  This is the same thing that happened when the governement thought it could stop people from drinking by outlawing booze.  Please!  :D :D :D

How can it ever be policed?  It is just another government BS law that will do nothing to stop crime but will raise the cost of my right the bear arms!!!

I would like to what would happen if the government started registering everyone that went to church!!!

The Nevada border will look like the borders of Wisconsin and South Dakota, except the fireworks shops will be ammo shops. Looks like a buisiness in the making for Nevada folks.

I feel obligated to clarify my earlier statement.  One reason, I think we all agree, the purpose for maintaining our individual right to bear arms, is because making it illegal to posses firearms means that ONLY PEOPLE WHO WILL POSSES FIREARMS WILL BE THOSE WHO DO NOT ABIDE BY THE RULE OF LAW.  Well, that and the fact that we enjoy them and are a part of our ways of life like tractors and pick up trucks.
Look at alcohol prohibition, it didn't work.  Look at the war on drugs, it is not working. Why?  MONEY.   If you have the money, you can get anything anywhere.
So, now in California, if someone is intending on committing a crime using a firearm, that person just needs to access black market bullets/ammo or just buy their bullets/ammo out of state and bring them in.  This law may be effective to catch perpetrators when crimes of passion are involved (i.e.- not planned out), but for organized crime, this law is just a small hurdle.  I may be wrong, but I am guessing that this law was intended to go after gang violence.  Drugs flow out of California like a waterfall onto the rest of the west.  The gangs primary motive is to control black markets in there neighborhoods and regions.  They make their living by transporting and distributing contraband.  Who thought this s#1T up?  The only thought I have is that it might be considered to be a pilot program for a nation.  Well, that bill may pass in Cali, but would be political suicide for any politician who tries to bring this absurdity to the rest of the U.S.

Schwarzenegger sucks! Think about all his movies, all he carried was assault rifles.I guess they were OK when it made him millions. As far as the "O" man goes what experience did he have? He was a 1 term senator. He's a complete socialist as will surely go down in history as our worst president ever. Jamal you really need to do a little research before you speak Sarah Palin had plenty of experience from being governor.Read her book sometime there's lots of stuff in there that's fact not her opinion, she gave up being governor because of unfounded lawsuits. According to Alaska law a politician has to pay for their own legal defense.Imagine if I could file charges against you, without identifying myself,an you had to pay to defend yourself, how long would you stay on as governor? I'm proud to say I voted for John McCain. The man is a war hero, and deserves respect from us all. How long do you think the O man would be tortured before he gave up the country's secrets?

Sounds like a political thing to me, SO.............

Didn't McCain run as a democ rat in the 2000 primaries?  He made me a bit uneasy too, but he was the only person worth voting for.

Anyone hear that (a$$) O was asking for a bill from congress to pay 1.2 BILLION dollars "reparations" (?) to 70,000 black farmers who were "discriminated against" by the U.S.?

Anyone who couldn't see this one coming is legally blind.  Of course congress won't dare pass it....will they?

Write your congressman and tell them what you think of stinking government health care.  Do it now, and every week thereafter.  If it's not good enough for them, it damn well is not good enough for us.
Vote them all out, EVERY election!

Does anyone remember the scene from "Quigley Down Under" showing the aborigines lined up on the skyline as far as you could see?   That needs to be US!
