When you purchase a 6-volt battery make sure you get an alkaline 6-Volt Battery. You will find many batteries labeled heavy duty are not Alkaline and they will cost you more.

Interesting I have never tried it. I have seen other tapes of it being done over the years. Snopes keeps catching up on items posted.
One of these days when people call 911 the first thing after the report the 911 dispatcher will check it on snopes.

well in this case snoops is wrong. Ive done it and the batterys work. I dont think i saved any money though.

P.S.
Some of the more powerful rechargeable batteries are oversize and will not fit in some lights and can strain gps battery cases.

Snope are a couple that have no credence as professional fact finders.
and Wikipedia isnt factual either sometimes.
