I have 2 complete Encores one with a 20 gauge slug barrel and one a muzzleloader set up which I purchased used this year. I am of a more traditional nature, favor the walnut stocks and consider the Encore a classic single shot but am kind of bugged by the width of the muzzleloading forend and especilly the deep recessed screw holes. The 20 gauge forend is slimmer and to me more appealing, I realize the ram rod has to be allowed for, but has anyone reworked the factory fore end to slim it down or create a scnabel type one which I have always liked and has any one come up with a more decorative screw attachment. Thanks.
