Boyds thumbhole coming....
« on: February 21, 2010, 03:11:12 AM »
I've got a green laminated 'Limited Edition' straight stocked Handi in .357 Mag. Saw the Boyds  ad for $42 thumbhole stocks and ordered one.
What are you guys finishing the stock with? Clearcoat?
My little .357 Mag will stay in it's origional chambering......at least until I get the itch to run a Maximum reamer into it. I'm having a lot of fun with .38 Spl loads in the meanwhile!

My friend and I just ordered 2 of the camo laminates from Boyds and the camo laminate fore end from H&R. Should be a pretty sweet setup for our .357 MAXI's. Can't wait.
I recently did a camo laminate stock for my air rifle and finished it with Tru oil by hand rubbing it in then steel wooling between coats. I put 4 coats on but probably should have put on 5 or 6. Still looks good tho.
