tractor gun!

I stopped at the pawn shop the other day and picked up a pardner 12ga. Today I took it to a buddy's and we cut the barrel to 18.5". Then I rode over to bass pro and picked up some sling swivels and a buttstock shell holder and some 3" buckshots. I now have a great tractor/ truck gun that I'm not too worried about getting scuffed up. It also won't have any problems handling whatever I happen across while walking in the woods or riding on my big green tractor. Pics coming once I'm completely done.

I did the same thing for gun to carry on my 4 wheeler. I glued on some williams sights with some loctite black max. I gave it a healthy dose of duracoat. It's a great little gun to pack through a thicket. It will group remington slugs about 2" at 50 yards. The downside is with buck shot it throws an 18" pattern at 20 yards. I plan on putting a choke in it one day.

That is a good tip. Mine is unscrew the hard buttplate and replace it with a Limbsaver, and maybe some weight in the stock.

Joe,
When I was sighting mine in with some remington slugs, the other guys at the range had to come see what I was shooting. It was rocking me back about 12" everytime I pulled the trigger.

I don't understand. If y'all ain't noticed I am not a recoil lover. Congrats on the new toy. It will serve you well if you ever truly need it. (Which I hope you never do!) I keep a marlin 22 mag on the tractor with me when I do hay so I can get the rats that are running around. Every once in awhile I will luck in to a coyote who is looking for those same rats.

I don't know that any slugs will go down this tube. Just buckshot and lighter. If I do switch to slugs, I'll put a recoil pad on for sure.

If you want a surprise fire 3 inch buckshot or slugs through a pardner- they will rock you back with that 5 pound firearm.
Not unmanageable, but be ready for it, and don't fire too many.
It was a real surprise the first time i did it
