Looking for Moon Clips
« on: February 23, 2010, 05:51:43 AM »
I just purchased a S&W 327 Performance Center 8-shot .357 mag. It uses moon clips and I need a good source for them. I would like to buy around 25-50 for use in IDPA shoots. Was wondering if anybody has a good source for them? Also, are their some brands I should stay away from? Thanks!

Diggdug, I have about 70 moonclips for a 627 about a dozen of them are S&W and they like Starline brass. The rest are from Ranch products and I use R-P in them. Neither one likes Winchester.I find it difficult to find the right tension on the brass so that they are not too loose or too tight. The 8-shots are not as forgiving as the 6 shot moonclips. I bought the ones From Ranch Products mainly because they were cheaper and I wanted so many but can't say they are any better. Another place to look would be www.moonclip.com but I think they are about $4. ea. Hope this helps some.

Go to Old Sarge's Dropzone (http://www.oldsargesdropzone.com/product.php?item=1469) and he has them 100 for $30.  Not a bad deal.
