« on: February 23, 2010, 11:35:46 AM »
I picked up my new 9X33R today. The box says SB1 the paper work says SB2 ::)   Not a problem with me .  It will be reamed to 9X40R as soon as I get the reamer.  I hope to use 11.66gm cast lbt's at approx 640 mps.The 55.8 barrel centimeter will be cut to 41.91 centimeter's. She will be 92 centimeters long and weigh 3.51kg with the scope and ammo. . ;D     Doug

Is that anything like 180 grains and 2100 fps?

I suppose you're gonna tell me it's 294.111 Kelvin outside, too!   ;D ;D

How long did it take you to figure out all the conversions?
I had a 357 for a while but it didn't really spin my crank.

Spanky, not to long at all. The internet has a bunch of conversion sites, I darn sure did not learn no "metrical system" when I went to school.Up  hill both ways, in the snow   etc etc    180 @ 2100 is the correct answer.  ::)       Doug

Hey, congrats on the new 357 Doug.  We'll have to go play when things clear up a bit.  By the way, Shiptons on the west end still had a 45 BC the last time I was in there.  (Well, they call me the pusher man.) ;D  DP

you and me both Marv....<><....:)

Doug, regarding the conversion of .22 LR Versa Pak barrels to .22 WMR, the first belief offered by some was, #1) it was dangerous to shoot a .22 Mag in a .22 LR diameter barrel because of the .001 diference in "theoretical" diameter.
The second belief was #2) if the gun or barrel did not blow up ( ;D ::)) it would be very inaccurate.
To the contrary, all Versa Pak barrels that have been reamed out to .22 WMR so far have proven to be safe (of course!!!!) AND very accurate. I am sure yours will be the same...Congratulations, enjoy it, and keep us posted....<><....:)

Doug, you're obviously suffering mid-winter cabin fever.  Grab a Handi, a pair of snow shoes, and get yer butt outside. ;) :o ;D

Watching BBC channel too much will do that to you.
Congrats on the .357 Doug! I was just looking at Buds and they do have quite a few Handis that are hard to find at times. Both of the Survivor rifles, .357, .44, but no .30-30s yet. The .30-30 has to be the hardest Handi to find.
