how rare are Winchester 1894AE's in .357?

Ck I wouldnt do it...not to rain on anyones parade but the 94 winchester wasnt made to handle pistol Ctgs...way too short...I have heard horror stories about the 357 ones not feeding properly...especially with 38's.

For what its worth if ya want a lever 357 I would go Marlin First..then a Rossi 92 copy.

If ya live near a Big 5 sporting goods store they put Marlins on sale for 300.00 bucks a few times a year.

Most of the problems with Wichester 94's come when ya run em hard.  I had one in 45 Colt that worked ok...but like I said we run em pretty hard for CAS.  The Marlin for the price is the way to go.  I have never owned a 44 or 357 version so most of what I am tellin ya is second hand.  Ya might ask around some more.  

I have a 92 and Marlin in 45 love em both.. I eventually want a 357,44,41 to round out the group.  There have been rumors that Marlin is gonna make one in 32 hr mag.

I bought a Marlin 94 out of a sunken chartered fishing boat in Miami,  the owner kept it aboard for sharks and the like.  It aint pretty as it sat under Biscayne Bay for a while until the boat got raised, but for $60 cash it's one of my better investments.  I love the darn gun, no safety on it and deadly accurate with the right loads, two favorites are lots of H110 with lyman 358156 cast SWC and other even better load is LBT 180 grain WFNGC over H110, but have a problem with that load...one is that it is too long to work through action and jams the gun up.  I have a Williams receiver sight that required quite a bit of metal removal from the bottom to allow it to go down enough to get on target at 100 yards.  
   As far as functioning, it's 100 percent...until you get the round too long and then it's 100 percent jam.  
   I had thoughts about getting a winchester and having it reamed to 357 max as the action is long enough to make that conversion, but less money available than ideas.  Also thought about converting Marlin 44 to 357 bain & davis, but again, mucho trabajo, poco dinero...

I have one of the 94 trappers in 357 with a red dot sight. It feeds 357's perfectly. It will give some problems with short 38 spec but has never given any prob with 357's

I have the same trapper in 357 not one hitch in its get along as of now
