now boys we all have funny things happen ta us (funny after the fact) when we are tryin ta be serious bout any sport. i'll start this stupid thing. we aught ta get some serious laughs outta this.
once-thank god it was warm-i had pulled tha boat up on a bar. tha water was clear and tha gut off this bar was probable 10' deep. it went straight down off tha edge of the bar. tha water over tha bar was bout 6" deep.
i made sure to run the boat way up on the bar-probable 8/10' and hoisted tha anchor over as far as i could throw it-bout 15'. gave the rope a good tug ta set the anchor. tied tha rope off tha stern cleat.
went got ma hat, fishing vest, rod and checked to make sure everthing was in order. took maybe 2 minutes.
now i was anxious ta get at it cause tha mullets were actin up, there was some birds overhead--prospects was good.
charged over tha stern an jumped in--straight down. tha danged anchor had turned over an tha boat had drifted off tha bar. dang near lost ma hat. had to grab tha rope, climb back in tha boat an reset it on tha bar.
