I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case I've kind of lost interest in Taurus products - at least for the time being.
I've owned two, an older model 94 (still have) and a newer model 66 (no longer own this one).  The M94 has been a real good gun, no complaints at all.  The model 66 was a waste of money.  From what I've read here that seems to be about average - 50% good, 50% bad.

I really like the looks (the design concept so to speak) of several of their guns, both revolver and semi-auto.
However, I have no plans to buy any of their products until I'm satisfied they have vastly improved their quality control and customer service - both seem to be hit or miss at the present time.  I'm hoping they do turn things around, but until then I'll use something else.

I gave my wife a model ninety something a year or so ago. It's a four inch stainless nine shot double action 22 LR. Excellent shooter with no problems. Took it, my Single Six, both grandkids and my wife to the range this weekend. They shot up a pile of 22's and had a big time.

I have a model 66 w/4" barrel.  It is accurate and goes bang every time I squeeze the trigger.  There is just not much more to tell about it.

I have a PT1911 and a Millennium  pro and had no issues with either after changing the lock out on the 1911.

After shooting a S and W for a while, the Taurus 9 and the 1911 are just OK.  I wish their CS was more professional.

I look at it like I do tools now.  You can buy a cheaper tool, then find out that it really doesn't do the trick, then buy a proper one.  Or, you can buy the proper tool to begin with, and save yourself a headache and some time.

That's how it is for me.  My Taurus's are OK, serviceable, the 1911 is pretty good except for the mis-aligned barrel, but neither are Smiths, or Rugers for that matter.

Got rid of all my taurus firearms except for an M44 with scope,,,,,,and it will be gone when I find the appropriate trade. Not so much based on the fact that all where junk but the fact I had an issue on a 608 that took over a year to get half arse fixed and over a year of lies and BS from customer service. Nope, no more for me........but to each their own. ;)

No issues for me. I buy them, they go bang, target gets hit. And I have money left to buy more ammo.

I always found the Taurus forum to be entertaining to read.  I once had 4 of their handguns, traded em' off, they did work, but barely.  I admire the innovation of their new stuff, but I don't plan to buy anything they make until things get cleared up on their customer service and quality control.  It has always amazed me that they stay in business, I guess that is part of the interest that makes this forum so great to visit.

Well so far I have all good ones accurate and no problems. Cant say about the older stuff, but even Greybeard was complaining about a S&W .45 he had once, so that swows even S&W can screw up some times, that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy anouter one..

I've recently bought a 941 .22mag 5" barrel.  Love it!  I'm fairly new to handguns, haven't shot much, but I can hit a pie plate consistently at 100 yards.  My friend shoots a S/W .45 Long Colt and can't hit a man sized silhouette consistently at 25 steps...?  I'm not a good shot.  I think it's a recoil thing and that 941 is nice.  A moving bobcat is another story...Now I'm thinking about putting a holographic sight on it.  Any suggestions?

I have a 4 inch Model 44 and it is a real nice packing field gun. Nothing fancy but works and is easy to pack. They do not recommend shooting the heavyweight loads but the 240 - 250 grain loads pretty much have it covered. A 250 at 1200 is plenty.

The Taurus guns that have passed through my hands were all in need of some polish to function properly. All had function glitches to to roughness of internal parts. Once they were polished up they functioned fine.
Just another worthless opinion!!

I've had three. A 66, 689 and a pt99. No probs with any of them. Wish i still had the 689. Still have the 99. I'll own another. Like the Raging bull in 454.

I have a couple of Trackers, a 41 and a 44 that work good for me. I will say that the 44 locked up tight on the first round I ever fired from it and I had to send it back in for warranty repair. They were reasonably quick getting it back to me and it has functioned flawlessly ever since. I think that Taurus, like all the other gunmakers, was overwhelmed for a while with EVERYONE buying every thing they could get their hands on and quality control suffered. Supply and demand issues are a little better now and since the customer service department treated me well on the one issue, I will continue recommending their arms.

Well I sent my m94 back to the factory about a week ago, it started keyholing after every 50 or so shots. We will see what happens.

But I still couldn't be happier with the m991, its a really great shooter. I sold my 44c to my oldest son and bought a S&W 629. With 44spec he eats up a 5 gal bucket at 100 yards, I just scare the hell out of it with that 4" barrel.

I'm thing about a 991 with a 4" barrel for a boat gun-snakes-gators-mud fish-ect.

I bought a Thunderbolt last month and have been firing it at every opportunity. I found it smooth reliable and acceptably accurate. I find that a 255 cast bullet over 8gr of Unique will shoot into less that 2 inches at 50 yards.

The only Taurus I'm interested in is the older M-94s. I have a 4" stainless and I like it alot. I won't pay the price for a S&W M-63 and the M-94 is a great subsitute. I have owned two. The first one was okay for the price. The one I have now is much better. Quality control issues on first one but it was accurate. I owned a copy of the S&W M-10 years ago by Taurus and didn't like it. I guess I wouldn't mind having a good M-85. My X used to have one and it was good for what it was made to do. I don't see me buying another Taurus.

I own a PT1911, PT99, a 99 Tracker 22LR and a 94 22 LR and have had good luck with all of them. The PT99 I have had for over 30 years and it is still my most accurate 9mm.  My PT1911 is as accurate and reliable as my Kimber and it has a steel mainspring housing not the piece of junk plastic one Kimber puts on their guns.  I got the two 22 revolvers for plinking for me and my wife.  I liked the larger Traker better but she likes the smaller 94 but they are both 9 shooters.  I do need to put a spring kit in the 94 as the springs are too stiff.

I was getting ready to buy a 24/7 last week, but after talking to two dealers in my area, who's opinions I respect, I changed my mine. Too many quality issues, and CS problems that they have dealt with. One of them is a gunsmith, and has worked on many, and says that the quality is questionable at best. Not a gamble I want to take. I do love the looks and feel of some of the their new models, hope they get their act together soon.
