Without partisanship we have a dictatorship. What we need is two parties that are constantly battling it out with one another and hardly ever getting their way. Whenever we don't have that situation, we have problems (like the current mess!)

What I love is when one moron Republican works with the Liberal Demacrats it is Bi Partisanship.
When a Democrat works with the Conservitives is it Treason.
Why is everything seen from the Progressive view?  A progressive is someone who progresses the Socialist movement in congress and we need to label them that way.
What we need is to have someone (Conservitive) do a 30 Seceond professor on the TV during the news make it a commercial and make it look like part of the nightly news.  And explain the conservitive way and how the economy works and how the Liberal plan will not work no matter what good intentions there are.
We need to explain that tax increases are job killers!  They lower wages, kill production, and increase the gap between the rich and the poor.

I heard something on the news the other day about how we already have socialism at the two extremes of our economy.  One is welfare for the poor which we already know about.  The other is corporate welfare, the bailouts of the banks and banking institutions and big business like GM and Chrysler.  We the middle class have to say NO to all of it.  I don't mind having a safety net for the poor, but it has gone too far.  The poor can have cell phones, cable tv, etc.  We are giving them too much especially the able bodied.  And NO corporate welfare.  If a company can't stay in business, it needs to fail.  The assets sold to other like companies.  Workers will have to find other jobs.  The longest a resession or depression lasted in the 1800's is about 18 months.  When the government gets involved, it drags it out much longer.  We also have got to git rid of illegals draining our system.

Cities like SF that have Illegal safe heavens should be cut off from state and federal funding untill they comply and uphold the laws of the country.
And we can end the illegal problem quickly if we give them 45 days and start deporting any one cought to either Afganistan, Iraq, China, Cuba, or France.  No questions asked first seat on the plane to one of those countries and they are off.
Also make any crime done by an Illegal a possible death penalty case.  Give them 3 appeals and set an exicution date.
The sending anyone just across the baorder is a joke.  When I lived in So Cal my friend was in charge of a crew of illegals the company he worked for hired.  They sent him 8 for a 6 man crew as one was always being picked up for driving with out a license and sent back.
With in three days they would be back and have muled drugs into the country to pay the Coyote.
Actually I take this all back what I want is to be able to get a ignore any three state and federal laws you want card(s).  If the illegals are allowed to ignore multiple laws including the Tax codes I as a citizen should be allowed to ignore at least that many and be allowed to get away with it.  Register the laws you want to ignore and as the police come up to you, you show them your card and if your offense is on the card they let you go.  If hauled into court for non payment of taxes or other... It's on the card let me go.

McDuck, the ones that control the media put the face/slant on the events that are covered. They present a favorable apperance on what ever thier agenda is. The media can easily indoctrinate "most" of the general public by simply constantly repeating what they want the population to believe. The sheep/children are easily lead. eddiegjr

Here it is!

If a Republican works with the democrats its reaching across the isle, and is considered bi partisan, by the Democrats.

If a Democrat works with the Republicans he is considered Joe Lieberman, and is hated by all democrats, and most republicans as well!

There now does that clear it up for ya?

Actually they have been working with each other for a long time! They are just good at fooling Republicans and Democrats! (The Herd) into thinking they are different.

I'm for partisanship, but not limited to two parties. I realize that most people think binary is good ... I would point out the result is what we have right now, which begs the logic of viewing our government as a binary equation. The problem of being bi-partisan is that both parties will naturally strive to make itself a stronger version of the other, like two competing predators. The reason our parties are so similar is that they've only tried to compete with each other, and they rally against newcomers. So no, I don't think that's healthy or sustainable, and expecting it to work otherwise is akin to doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results.
