Barnes TSX shoot's like ??
« on: February 26, 2010, 11:56:37 AM »
Help me out here guy's,,
I finally got some TTSX 120's flyin real sweet out of my/the boy's 7-08,,nice enough groups for hunting. MOA at 200.! I'm Real happy  ;D

But now he needs some bench time, I told'm he's not using the gun for deer hunting till he get's a 100 rounds down the tube! But those Barnes are a mite spendy for plinking. I've got other 140-150 jacketed bullets shooting OK, but POA and trajectory is way different than those 120's.

What would be a good choice for a closer compatable/affordable target bullet? I'm not expecting the same scope settings, just something a little closer to the trajectory so I can get him comfortable at 200.   ???

Oh,p.s. it's a 1-10 22" handi

If you are trying to roughly duplicate trajectory then use same weight bullets at roughly same velocity. Remington 120s are about as cheap as any and shoot accurately.

I've been surprised to find the .257" 115 TSX is shooting as well as anything in my .257 Whby. Mag and will be giving them a try next time I'm out hunting.
