If I were going to hunt coyote with a 22 mag, I think I would use one of the high velocity, light weight bullets for their explosive expansion, in hopes of minimizing the risk of pass thru, and subsequent pelt damage. I would keep my shots close, under 50 yards, and only take solid, broadside chest cavity shots. Personally, I use a .204 and a 223 for them. I like the heavy bullets like the dynapoints in a 22 mag for turkey hunting. They expand and penetrate without blowing up and damaging meat. I guess they would work well on coyote if you were not concerned about pelt damage.
