Daisy Pump Air Rifle
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:09:09 PM »
Does anyone remember the Daisy pump BB gun from the 60's? I would like to find one. if possible. Does anyone know the velocity that it shot?

There were several different pump rifles from daisy.
They seemed pretty powerful when we were kids but
Velocity was only about 450 - 475 fps. Wish I still had mine :-\

The model is the Daisy 25.  They are making them now, the price is $75.00.  When I was a kid, I just had a plain lever-action Daisy, but the better-off kids had 25's.

Seems they dropped the velocity down some, had one when I was in my 30's, had an old peepsight epoxied on it, it worked out pretty good, lot's of fun, ended up stolen, got to have another one, time to start saving up again, LOL...steg

Went to the Daisy site, they wanted you to print out a form, proving you were over 21, and then to Fax it back to them. I don't even know anyone who has a fax machine anymore.
So I Googled it sand found one on the first page, Dicks Sporting goods or something like that Daisy wanted $79:00; Dicks had it listed at $49:00 quite a savings so I ordered it there.
found the same kind of a thing at Lee's molds, $29:00 compared to my gun dealers $20:00, maybe buying directly from the manufacturer isn't so great. BTW as far as Daisy goes the mod 25 is made in china, so they were the importer   steg

You can also get them at Sports Authority for about $69.00.  Check it out at:

The neighbor boy had one of these when I was growing up back in the 60's.  Of course I wanted one too.  My parents wouldn't let me have one, but eventually relented but I ended up getting a CO2 pistol.  I always liked the Daisy however because you could pump it.  CO2 was expensive for a kid back then.  I also liked how you could regulate velocity depending on the number of pumps you give it.  Makes indoor shooting real easy.  Looks like another gun goes on my wish list!

Steve their isn't any way to regulate the velocity on this pump BB gun, the pumping action just recocks the spring, as in the lever type BBgun, after the first pump, following pumps won't do anything to change the velocity of the BB                                                              steg

OK, thanks.  I must be thinking of another model.  The search is on!

I had a 10-pump Daisy 880 on the 70's-80's, maybe that's the one you had in mind, the new ones aren't as good. Mine accounted for it's share of pigeons, rabbits, squirrels, a skunk and a groundhog and, oh yeah, me...my nephew shot me in the thigh with a BB from about 5 feet, was too deep to fish for so they left it.
