Hello all!
A little bit about me: I was born and raised on a farm here in Midland County Michigan. My father, a former Marine Machine Gunner and BAR man, was a strict disciplinarian. I am proud to say he help take the Japanese Islands of Saipan, and Tinian, during WW2. It was he who first taught me to shoot, love, and respect firearms. Growing up on a farm provided me a target-rich environment to hone my shooting abilities. I was seldom seen without a gun or bow in my hand.
My day job is that of a R&D Lab Technologist at The Dow Chemical Company. Currently I work in a Foams Development Pilot Plant (Styrofoam) and most of my 20 years at Dow have been concentrated on some sort of polymer research.
In 2006, I was fortunate to become part of the Midland County Sheriffs Office as a Reserve Deputy. I had always had a strong interest in Law Enforcement as well as a deep respect for anyone who willingly puts themselves in harms-way to help others. In 2008 they saw fit to make me the Range Officer in charge of all firearms training for 30 Reserve Deputies.
Although I love guns and shooting, (I even like mouse guns), my biggest passion in Life is Bow Hunting Whitetail Deer. I take at least one out of state hunting trip each year, typically, to Iowa or Kansas. Last season, I was fortunate to take my biggest bow kill to date, a 155” typical 10.
I am looking forward to using this forum and learning from all of you. I don’t know how much I will have to contribute, but it should be fun!
Thanks!
