Lead Free Bullets?

I don't live in a free state anymore (No more California jokes please) and were
required to use condor-compliant lead free projectiles to hunt big game.
I just starting to reload and will need to pick up some copper's I'm guessing so that I'm not paying $50 for a box of 308's.
What are some tried and true lead free pills if any that perform?
It just kills me not to be able to use core-loc's anymore.

I use Barnes 110 gr shredders in my 30-06, they fly real fast, and go real far.
I can vaporize small game at distance.

We did a side by side comparison with the Barnes 300gr HP against everything in the 300gr class for 45-70
Its wound channel was by far the widest, and only the solids had deeper penetration.

Look at the bright side you golden staters, when the SHTF the resistance will be a bunch of highest skilled sharpshooters with
the nastiest bullets around.

Yes, I've seen the lead free one's offered but was wondering on there performance and any GB experienced folks using them.

Well, I know the Barnes CAN be loaded for reasonable accuracy and velocity in a Handi

 Haven't used them in the field yet, but reviews of this bullet that's been out for years, is 98% devastating/DRT. I'd bee a bit concerned if I couldn't get the velocity, but that group is 1grn short of max for the load.

It would appear that my choices are narrowed down to:
Barnes - Triple Shock
Hornady - GMX - GMXA
Nosler - E-Tip

I have only used the Barnes bullets since I also live in the Condor area.  I have been using them for 2 years now and am quiet pleased with the results.   My main deer rifle is a 7mm 08 and I have been using the 120 grain TSX for 2 years now.  Shot a medium Sierra mule deer with it last year and it did the job.  Didn't tear up too much meat although it broke the front shoulder on the off side at the joint.  Bullet went in just behind the left shoulder and exited through the right shoulder.  Usually get about 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards with this bullet in my Kimber 7mm 08.

Tried the 130 grain TTSX in my 308 and it didn't like them as well as the 150 TSX (finicky Win. M70 featherweight).  Shot the 130s well enough for hunting but was excellent with the 150s.  My 300 Savage Bullberry contender likes the 130s very well (it shoots everything very well).  My 30-06 shoots the 150 grain TTSX very well, 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards, if I do my part.  Have only used the 7mm on game yet.

The only thing that I don't like is the price but I guess it's the same for all premium bullets.

But on the other hand my 06 would not shoot anything I loaded for it until I found 168gr TSX my groups went from 3"-4" at 100 down to MOA.

Remember for now you only need lead free in the condor zone.

Seriously, it is nice to see more bullet manufacturers getting into the lead free bullets. A LOT of competition could very well equate
to lower prices. Here in Iowa, the only "deer rifle" legal is the muzzle loader. I have been using Barnes bullets for several years, now,
and DRT is common......they are very efficient bullets. For my CF range practice, they are prohibitively expensive, even though I
have gotten a few to try out.

I live in Kalifornistan too. I hunt the condor range with Barnes TSX. I'm getting very good accuracey in my 25-06 with 100 grains, 243 with 85 grainers and in my slow twist .257 Roberts I get good accuracy with the 80 grain TSX. I've dropped a deer with my 25-06 and with my .243 last season. No problems with the Barnes bullets as of now.
