favorite 45 acp ammo

For those who carry a 45 acp. What is your ammo of choice for self defense?  All things being equal with feeding . Thanks. Bill

I have a bit of "Ranger T" left, that I use for serious social intercourse. When these are gone I'll be happy with just about any hollow point in the 230 gr weight from most of the major manufacturers. My totally unscientific testing leads me to the conclusion that they all work about the same. You can spent a couple bucks a round for some of the "Razzle Dazzle" ammo if you like, IMO it's a waste of money.

very true! I have been carrying with ball ammo, its what I have been using to practice with anyway.
The cost of the expensive stuff is why I asked instead of just buying something that sounds good.

Federal 185Gr +P FMJ EXPANDING!!!  Before that it was Federal Hydra shok 230 HP's..

I don't go lower than 185gr in .45acp. I like the mass of the "heavy for caliber" bullets.

I like fed HST 230g +P's. They feed well and have opened reliably in my testing with water jugs from my g36.
