Got 2 Hogs today!!!

I took the boat out to do some hog hunting.  I took my H&R shotgun with a 19" cylinder bore.  I was slinging 1oz slugs and 00 Buck.  I shot the first one in some tall grass  with a slug and thought I missed.  I slid a 00 Buck in the pipe and got out the boat and started walking that way slow.  I saw one standing right where I just shot about 30 yards away.  I thought it was the same hog.  I leveled off on its head squeezed the trigger.  BANG FLOP!!!  I walked over there and 2 hogs laying side by side dead.  I gave one to a good friend of mine who has been wanting one for a while now.

Your close,  I'm in south MS.  I'm about 2 miles from the state line.  I was hunting in the marsh right behind my house.

That' why I guessed Louisana. Nice hogs. I saw two a few days ago and both had litters. They went around 200 lbs each, and one was a black and white spotted pattern I had never seen before. Each black spot was about the size of a grapefruit. I didn't shoot either, as I wasn't sure who owned the land. As it turned out, I could have.

Someone supposedly owns the land in that marsh but there are no signs and we never see them.  It's some multi-millionaire.  I grew up hunting that little bayou and I probably won't stop until they post signs and enforce it.  That's the first hogs I ever shot with a shotgun and I was impressed.  The one shot with the slug woke up while in the boat.  I shot him again when I got him home.  His neck and was shredded.  I hit him right behind the head and it came out his shoulder.

He wasn't going anywhere.  He was completely paralyzed from the slug.  I cut him very deep with a pocket knife but he just wouldn't die.  .22 between the eyes when I got home finished him off.  I felt bad, but it was too much work to drag him back out on the bank.
