I killed a trophy button buck yesterday with a cap and ball revolver. My first. I used 43 grains 777 fff and a Lee conical weighing 211 gr.. Complete penetration, behind the shoulder with a good size exit hole. He was 25-30 yards away, went about 10 yards.

very interesting! i like those old army's, but just wondered if i could take a deer cleanly. what would be your max range, now that you've seen complete penetration? do you pour that bullet, or can it be bought? :D

thanks! thats great. now, do i actually want a old army, or a 50cal encore pistol barrel to hunt with. hehe, i can't afford either right now :roll:

get a custom bullberry 209x50.   by the time it is ready to ship you may have the money. ( about 2 months or longer )  :D

Thought about going the Encore route too and then having Veral make a FN BP mould for it. Should increase the performance a bit.
