Anyone know where I can get a brass backstrap for my New Model Blackhawk?

With Ruger's, you change the entire grip frame not just the backstrap portion.  Qualite/QPR was supplying them for years but I believe Power Customer is alone in it now.  Check MidwayUSA.
Any you get will require fitting and finishing and require the grip locator pin and trigger spring retaining pin to be installed.

At one time Ruger sold brass grip frames and sold several different model Blackhawks with the same grip frame.  Collectors have cornered most of the original issue revolvers but there are a few of the grip frames floating around.  The one I have is a "Super" and so are most, if not all of the few I've seen.  I don't know if they made them in standard configuration or not.

At this point in time, to the best of my knowledge, there's only one brass grip frame being currently produced.  Ron Powers makes a two piece "Colt Like" grip frame in brass that will fit the Ruger Single Actions.

Over the years the aftermarket industry has made lots of grip frames for the Ruger, however, they are drying up.  Ruger made brass Super Blackhawk grip frames in the '60's/early '70's but they are getting difficult to find and become rather expensive due to we collectors.

QPR made a smaller, XR3-RED version for quite a few years and one can occasionally be found at a gun show, etc.

This pair of Old Model Blackhawks are "owner fitted" with the QPR grip frames.

So, I guess the bottom line is that the brass grip frames are getting scarce unless one wants the "small" sized design.

You are not alone! :D

Several years ago I snagged a OM Super Blackhawk at a local gun show.  It was rather beat but was made in the early '60 and that part was appealing.  I sent the gun to Ruger for a refinish job.  I ended up with this.....

I went "plum crazy" over the results!  :D

Oh, of course, I pulled the lockwork and sent it in with a "transfer bar kit" from my parts box....  ::)
