Mossberg Slugster Question
« on: March 02, 2010, 01:43:45 AM »
Is anyone familiar with this gun?  I acquired a Mossberg Slugster in 20 ga. from a coworker.  It appears to be at least 30 years old or so.  It has a wooden stock and foend that was painted camo.  The barrel is 24" with iron sights but is not rifled.  It is in pretty decent shape 85-90%.  The receiver seems to be metal, not aluminum.  The barrel does not have any numbers on it.  Just says Mossberg Slugster 20 ga.

I was wondering what barrels would fit this model (i..e. 500, etc.)?  Any info I could find on this model would be helpful.

Thanks.

I have one in 12 G that I bought back in the late 60s or early 70s.  I didn't care much for the iron sights but as it is cylinder bore it is a great quail gun.  After I had it tapped for a scope it was a decent deer gun and 500 barrels fit it as I eventually bought a 30 inch full choke and then a rifled barrel for it.  I ran thousands of rounds through it without any problems.  It's still in my gun safe.
