Garmin GPSMAP 172
« on: March 02, 2010, 02:15:47 AM »
My Father in Law has a GPS unit for which he'd like some data.  It's a Garmin GPSMAP 172 monochrome chartplotter.  He needs the data card with waterways and lights for northern Lake Michigan, Lake Huron between the Mackinac Straits and Detour Village, and the North Channel of Lake Huron.  They're all pretty popular with recreational boaters and fishermen and, so, should be available, unless of course he's procrastinated too long.  He has a blank data card floating around somewhere but will probably need at least one more.  There's a lot of information, and if memory serves correctly it's a 64 mb data card.

Any ideas where he might get such a thing??

Thanks in advance,

Dean

“Users can enhance basemap detail on the GPSMAP 172 by simply by plugging in data cards preprogrammed with BlueChart® or Fishing Hot Spots® detail or downloading data from optional MapSource CDs to an optional Garmin data card. BlueChart provides exceptional offshore marine coverage that includes shaded depth contours, navaids, shoreline, and more. For inland boating and fishing, the U.S. Recreational Lakes with Fishing Hot Spots CD and preprogrammed data cards are packed with inland lake maps, profiles, marinas, fishing areas and useful outdoor resources.”
