What's your best fishing story with your Dad?
About 5 years ago when my dad was 75, two of my brothers and I took him on a fishing trip to Rollover Pass. We were fishing at night off the bulkhead there. We were using our fresh water rods as we didn't have heavier stuff at the time. My Dad had a bass rod (spinning gear of course

) with 12 lb. test on it. We had been fishing for a while when he said "I'm hung up on the bottom". I took his rod to see if I could get it unstuck. When I pulled on it, it pulled back hard! Real hard!!

I yelled you're not hung up, you have a monster on here!

I gave him back the rod and he started reeling in like a madman. We were all yelling at him to slow down cause he only had 12 lb. test. But he just kept cranking as hard as he could. There was a crowd out there that night and everyone was watching and shouting advice.
He just kept cranking!!! Somehow the line held and a giant black drum surfaced at the bulkhead. We scooped it up with the net. My Dad was grinning ear to ear and the crowd was all clapping and yelling congratulations.
35 lbs.

Just one of many stories. Aren't they fun?
