Well, this is the 300th reply in this thread.  I have read that 300 replies is epic!  I wonder if it really matters that most of them have been from a few people. :D
Wife and I went out today.  Yes, we decided to brave the killer heat and try it.
On the lake at very first light.  Threw the cast net against the bulkheads to try to pick up some bait.  Managed about 3 dozen shad with 10 throws.  Also had a package of frozen shad with  us from when they were running.
We each rigged 1 pole for catfish and 2 poles for bass.  Got no strikes on a Rapala.  Had a Carolina rigged worm for deeper water but the wind was about 20 MPH in spite of the weatherman saying 5 MPH.  Too windy to fish deep.
Fished shad under a cork in 4' of water and cleaned up!!! ;D :o
We came home with 18 catfish weighing a total of 39 1/2 lbs. :o  That made a lot of fillets.
I only tried topwater for bass for the first 2 hours but nothing was shallow.  At least nothing was hitting a Rapala.
Small whitecaps on the lake so we really had to hug the bulkheads.
Off the water by noon.
18 fish between 2 and 4 lbs. ;D ;D
Zulu
Here is a picture of some of them.  I had started cleaning them when I remembered I hadn't taken a picture.
I know, I know, they are only catfish.  YUM! ;D

Zulu,  A real hunter adapts - mans gotta eat, you did well friend.  I would love to experience that some time.  You do have the recipe.  I went out Friday night after work and caught 7 bass.  Of the three bigger ones got a 2lb 10oz, a 2lb 8oz and a 2lb 6 oz'er.  They were each between 17 1/2 and 18 inches long.  I know those are minnows to you Southern boys but they still stretch the line pretty good.  Got 2 of them on a Alabama craw trick worm  and one right at dark on a june bug frog.  Fun, Fun - love that hydro therapy.  Regards,  BT

The wife and I went out today.  On the water at first light.  Crossed Lake Conroe to some deep water docks I know of (6' to 8')  next to 15' water.  We threw Rapalas, spinner baits, Carolina rigged worms, plastic crawfish, Rattletraps, and Chatterbaits.  Finally after 1 1/2 hours, I got a hit by a 1 pounder bass by a dock on the Rapala.  I lost it in 5 seconds. :'(
30 minutes later, still no hits.  We blew it off and started catfishing with dead shad I had frozen from when they were running in May.  First 3 cast = 3 fish in the live well.  They were laid up under the docks like they were last week.  We brought home 21 cats for 40 lbs of fish.  Just finished filleting them.

They are not bass but we didn't get skunked. ;D

Well heck Zulu you're getting to be quite the catfisherman. And you're dedicated. Bass are fun but catfish eat good! We could all take some notes appreciate your dedication. Keep fishing pardner!

I have better luck with bass when I'm fishing any lake other than Conroe.  Conroe's very heavily fished.  It has big bass, don't get me wrong.  There are at least two tourniments there each week.  I am certain that part of my problem is my unwillingness to take my boat way back into the stumps.  I don't want to mess my boat up. :-\
But the freezer's full. ;D

Went out today.
We decided to go catfishing since we have been doing so well lately.  The temperature has been close to 100 for days now.
Threw the castnet and got a few fresh shad.  Put a live one on the hook and immediately caught a 4 lb 11 oz bass. :o  It was fun to catch but I wish I had caught it on a lure.  Weighed it, took a picture and let it go.
We caught 27 catfish weighing around 60 lbs.
I have so much fish in the freezer we are giving it away.

Oldshooter,
Is what you're calling a white perch the same as what I call a white bass?  What did you catch them on?  Minnows?

No these are white perch or crappie, in Louisiana they are called "sac au lait" a little different than a white bass. Yep we used minnows(on brush piles),  hence the bass and catfish caught also.

     Very funny................ ;D

But there is a tiny flaw in your pic.   Not in a million years would I "fish" out of a stocked
       toilet using a .......spinning reel!
I think you make a mistake and posted one of your baby-pic`s by mistake.  :o
One other observation. I now know for sure you live in a single-wide trailer.   Where else
would you find the washer/drier next to the crapper ?   Just say-n
All that is missing is a ceiling fan running off an extention cord hooked up to your neighbors
stolen generator.   The air freshner gave it away.    :)

Hey BT:   +1 on what Zuku said.

  Zulu:
It`s coming!     This wasn`t a trip to the local Wal-Mart retention pond where you so often fish.   By the way, how in the world do you get that  "Tracker" oops, I mean "10 more years and it will be paid off "  bass boat of yours through the passenger gate that gives entry through that chain link encloser??  Bet you don`t have much room.   ;D
"maybe he didn`t catch anything "................   Sounds more like your "trips" fishing the run off stream from the local car-wash....   I`ll bet you think your in the ocean, what with all the FOAM clinging to the sides of the boat!   ;)

Hey Savage,
I know this is old but maybe it's time to resurrect this thread.
I can post pictures of my fish I catch and you can tell us all about the big bass that live in Florida. :P
With almost 11,000 views, this was a very popular thread.
I think most everyone enjoyed my wit and felt sorry for you.  Pity is a sorrowful thing but you soak it up like a sponge. ;D

Hey Savage,
You sure are hung up on this trailer park thing.
Myrtel Manor?  Nope, never heard of it.  Now I wonder about you, watching stuff like that.
Do you watch the Kardashians too?

You always invite me to come to Florida and you will take me fishing but I'm afraid.  You remember what happened the last time you went out?
Hope you were insured.
Did you have any marshmellows?

 Zulu:

Don`t get all huffy because you live in a trailer park. Credit dictates were you live. As you have none,  be lucky when you were looking that single wide was available.

The invite is always on the table.  Would really like to see a monster bass put a bend in your 202 Zebco , combo.  I know it handles "dinks' as that`s all you seem to catch.  By the way ,that combo is a spinner correct?   Must be. That`s all you can master.  Ya, I know it`s a closed-face.

As far as the boat fire goes. Not so fast my friend.  Does that look like a bass boat?  As usual, your wrong again.   It seems to me your thinking about your over priced, 35 MPH , fake.  Come to think of it ,after seeing your pic`s, was that thing hand painted with a spray can ?  Just asking.

Talking about your boat. I understand, you were passed by a guy in a Kayak, while you were wide open.     Embarrassing.   Should have bought the big engine package. That 25 HP doesn`t seem to be working.  ;D

One last comment. Do you still fire the cannon at 5 PM at the trailer park. The reason I ask is the last time the elevation was off and you blew up the park shower.  Hey,things happen. ;D
