well, i picked up my bersa today only ran 21 bullets through it but no hang ups

next weekend when i have more time will go to the range for the final test. if it hangs up again they have a gun show coming up and i will have a new conceal carry.

Glad to hear your gun seems to be functioning, I'm really surprised to hear you had a problem in the first place. What did the smith say the problem was?

I have the 2-tone .380 and love it. I shoot whatever ball ammo I can find for practice and for CC it's loaded with Buffalo Bore 100gr lead (1100fps, 294 ft-lb, blunt nose).

All my shots were low and left and I thought the sights were way off. But I recently got a set of Crimson Trace grips and saw the same results. Dry firing at home at a spot on the wall 30 ft away I could see the red dot jump low and left every time the hammer fell. Looks like a training problem to me. I'm working on it using a diagnostic pie chart I found on another site.

First range report, Firestorm .380 (Bersa). Snuck off to the range today for a quickie. The only ammo I had was cheap Russian 91 gr. fmj round nose. Shot a nice 21 shot 3" group at 15 yds. Sights are dead on. One round did not chamber fully, a slap to the back of the slide sent it home. Ejection was 'impressive'. I won't know for sure what I've got 'til I run it some more, especially with cast bullet reloads, but so far I like it a lot. All the controls are just right, plenty decent trigger for what it is. I'm starting to hope my daughter doesn't want it. If she does, my dealer has one more, a Bersa, only with a new lock built in, for $300. I'd kinda like to find another lightly used one, pre-lock. They are legal here for private sales.

I love these little guns. I had one and then I went and bought another one for my wife. Both were the duo tone and mine was the pre-lock model. Unfortunately I pawned mine because I needed money once and I lost it. Almost made me sick. Would like to get another one but I will never find another one for what I paid for the other two ($219) and I won't let myself pay more than that. So I guess I will just have to hi-jack the wife's. Getting her to go shooting is like pulling teeth anyways. Besides she has aquired a taste for the nylon 66 now.

P.S. I really wouldn't suggest getting any of the extended aftermarket magazines for these though. I bought the 10 rounder and not only does it look funny but does not feed well at all.

The wife bought her a Bersa Thunder 9mm Ultra Compact yesterday. Feels good and seems well built. We will take it out today and shoot.

I bought one in .22 lr. for my wife. WOW! What a nice little pistol! accurate, and reliable. and it fits my hand real well.
wish I had one!
I wouldnt say it was a nice gun for the money. It,s just a nice gun. great value!

Firestorm .380 follow up; Still have it, great gun. I shoot mostly cast bullets, either the Ranch Dog 100 gr. or the Lee 125. Both function 100% and are very accurate. I finally found some ammo that occasionally jams up, Winchester white box .380 fmj. It's a shame because I really like round/flat fmjs for a SD load. They are not reliable enough in my gun to be a good carry load but are fun for practice. The Winchester fmjs have a feeding issue in my gun. Now that the gun is broke in it functions 100% with anything else, so far. I'm too cheap to buy the premium SD ammo at a buck a shot.

My wife has her CPL, and we are trying to find a gun that is comfortable for her. She tried my Ruger SP101 revolver, Ruger SR9c, a friend's Ruger LCP, and another friend's Ruger LC9. She didn't like any of them, then we looked at a Bersa Firestorm 380. She bought that two days ago (For $259 + tax). We went to the range last night, and I put 5 rounds into a 1" circle at 7 yards. My wife needs a bit more practice, as she is shooting 3" groups at 7 yards (still quite impressive).

She loves the gun, it fits her hand, she is comfortable (therefore she will practice with it and gain proficiency).

I wish the gun shop would have had two of them at that price (we bought the last one they had, and the next order they get in will be priced at about $310 each).

We ran about 110 rounds through it last night without a hitch. I have heard bad things about aftermarket magazines, but don't have any personal experience with them.

i have bought cheaper pistols that people say are bad and they have never owned one. most times the problems are the clip ammo or dirty or not oiled properly.even high dollar guns are not problematic.bersa's i have looked at are solid guns. some dealers here let you try before you buy. i am going to shoot one next time at the range.

Hey guys, I just picked up a 9 shot magazine for the Bersa Thunder. It fits the gun like the standard 7 shot magazine, but has an extension on it. Wasn't aware they made such a magazine. Hoping to test it out tomorrow.

The 9 shot magazine works great. Nice to have a couple extra shots. Hope we never need them.

I shoot Hornady Critical Defense loads in my PPK/s. The recoil does not feel bad to me and they are very reliable in my gun.

The Lee 120 gr cast may not work well in the 380 as the extra weighr may change the recoil energy enough to alger slide timing. A better bet would be the Lee 105120 Swc. I wjll be trying thet recipe in my Bersa.

There are many small 9mm compacts around. You will go over the $500 mark with the Kahrs and XDM's and such. The Ruger LC9 can be had at a decent price. The Bersa CC 9mm 3.2 barrel Duotone 7 rounds goes for about $419.00. I may be able to get one if you are interested.

Well guys this offer stems to Graybeard users. I just talked to one of my suppliers and I can get the Bersa Thunder .380 CC. They have Duo Tone and reverse Duo Tone. Also Ruger LC9's if you are interested. Just an FYI.. I am a FFL holder. I don't want to break any rules here so please pm me if interested.

It's a lot better design than the PPK which it mimics. It has a decocker and also a gun lock built in to render it useless if you intend it...

I don't know that I'd agree with better than my Walther PPK but, if you say so. Is the frame on these steel or aluminum? I've never bought a gun, I wanted to lock or disable? Since S&W now make PPKs I'll stick with American made.

Yep, Your right. I new that there had been some type of merger between S&W and Walther but I thought that their pistols were all still manufactured in Germany. But as noted in the Chuckhawks article PPKs are now manufactured in the USA by S&W.

Got a Bersa Thunder .380 in about two weeks ago, it was the Duo Tone. It fits the hand really nice DA/SA and nice trigger. My buddy stopped by the shop, saw it, held it, bought it. It didn't last long, but I was impressed with the handgun. Never had a chance to fire one yet.

Learned something the other day. The reason Walther teamed up with S&W to make PPKs in the United States was due to ATF import restrictions. The PPK was/is not importable according to ATF requirements so Walther either had to make changes to the PPK to make it comply or find a way to manufacture them within the US.

Like yellowtail3, for years I thought these were .380 only. They have 9mm, .40 s&w, and .45 acp chamberings available in the Thunder UC PRO series.

I have yet to see one in person, nor have I found anyone who shoots one. Based on my experience with my "Series 95" .380 and the dependable service I have had from it, if I ever have the opportunity to own a combat caliber Bersa I will.

My wife has the Bersa Thunder 9mm. Awesome shooting gun and has never failed yet on any rounds. She selected it because of the fit to her hands. A well made gun and a simple design. Worth every penny IMO.

the biggest problem with bersa is that some people just cant stand the fact that a gun dont cost X#$. cheep guns just cant shoot strait or be reliable can they?
