Just my opinion guys, nothing more... No hidden meaning what so ever.
It seems like there are times when an opinion is given/stated  and there is someone, who can`t wait to decend on said opinion, if for no other reason but to flame that persons comments.  Some times there are discussions that are interesting and others that go no where or the point gets hi-jacked and the "flamer(s) has more to bellow about.

We need to respect each other and our opinions. That does not mean that we all need to agree.  I enjoy firearms and the outdoors very much and those are the main reasons I use this site. I tread lightly here because it appears that about 90 % of the regular responders are conservatives and many are quite outspoken conservatives. Myself I would claim to be a liberal and yes (the shame, the shame) I am democrat and yes I did vote for Obama and I am still glad that I did. In the 70s I was a democrat but Jimmy Carter kind of cooled that for awhile. I voted for Reagan and I am still glad that I did. I voted for and supported George H Bush but George W turned me back to the democrats. That all being said I still enjoy this site and I have learned much. Lets just all show respect for each other and make this a place where we can ALL express our opinions without having to be insulted or name called. There is debating and there is arguing, lets keep it as a debate please when we disagree.

See how easy it is to be brave when you can hide behind your computer! I would add a smily after that but I can't figure out how to do it on my Mac.

We need to respect each other and our opinions. That does not mean that we all need to agree.

Great point... but we do have a half dozen or so here that just can not wrap their mind around that concept. I myself have been known to come off as pushing my "opinion" on others. Seldom is that the case although I am not above it. For the most part I try to offer the information as I get it and most often hold my opinion for later. Now on issues that I have already made clear my opinion I can be a bit "pushy" and "in your face" but hey its my web site so it is bound to happen from time to time.

I enjoy firearms and the outdoors very much and those are the main reasons I use this site.

Well I dare say that 100% of our active members share this very same enjoyment.

I tread lightly here because it appears that about 90 % of the regular responders are conservatives and many are quite outspoken conservatives.

Well I think your percentages may be right but the description is a bit off. Of that 90% I would dare say that only 8-10% are true conservatives and the rest are more of a "Hybrid Social-Liberal-Conservative"  which are fine with government control so long as it does not affect them or if they don't agree with whatever is up for control. Most often they are happy with entitlements and handouts so long as they get their share. There are a few in the 8-10% group that are vocal on their views but for the most part it is the later group that spout off and stir the pot so to speak. I must admit I have had my H.S.L.C. moments but for the most part I try to take a Constitutional stand on most issues.

Myself I would claim to be a liberal and yes (the shame, the shame) I am democrat and yes I did vote for Obama and I am still glad that I did.

WHAT..... and you are on GBO... OK guys grab the rope we got us a liberal in the mix.... :D j/k  Nah I hate to admit it but one of my very good friends also voted for O and he too is still happy about it although in his mind the only options were O and Mcaint so I don't hold it against him. So I also will not hold it against you even though in my OPINION that was STUPID... there I had to say it...

That all being said I still enjoy this site and I have learned much. Lets just all show respect for each other and make this a place where we can ALL express our opinions without having to be insulted or name called.

I see you are a liberal wanting a Utopian web site....  ;D would be nice though...

There is debating and there is arguing, lets keep it as a debate please when we disagree.

Or as was said earlier lets agree to disagree...

May I ask why you voted for Obama?  Also, what has he done in office that you agree with?  I haven't ever met but a couple of folks who will say that they are happy with him and am curious as to the reasons, since I have never heard an intelligent one?  I mean no disrespect. I like to hear the views from all sides.  Thanks in advance.

Really there is only two things on GBO that will get me fired up and that is when someone flat lies to me and the other is when someone calls into question something I know to be fact.
In other words if someone says they can and have done something that sounds a little far out there does that mean it didn't happen!

I know some have made some mighty long shots on animals but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I have no problem with someone placing a limit they feel comfortable with when it comes to shooting but don't hack on someone who's limit is much farther than yours.

I know when I first joined I posted about a shot I made and have duplicated a couple of times since that was pretty long by most hunters standards and was raked over the coals for even trying such a shot.
I was portrayed as one of the most unethical hunters that ever lived.
A few backed me up but most thought it was shameless.
In fact one even posted (SHAME ON YOU).

I have since tried to learn to give a little over such matters but at times it strikes a nerve that someone that really knows nothing about someone else feels they can cut them simply for what they say.

I try to keep an open mind on matters, listen to their side and state mine.
Sometimes we just disagree which is fine, but leave the name calling out of it.
I don't do it and I prefer not to hear it,
(except when it's about THE LIAR IN THE WHITEHOUSE).  :D ;D
It adds nothing to the conversation.

Heather, no disrespect to you either but I do not want to express my views here as I doubt that I will change anyones point of view here as other posts will not change my views. We all just got to agree to disagree and then go a shooting (not at each other).

Powderman,
I currently own 11 powder arms and two airguns and I reload. I had my first BB gun at six, first .22 rifle at 10, first shotgun at 11 and first handgun at 13. Whether Obama has anything to do with it or not it currently appears that we are being granted more gun rights than we have had in a long time. Seems that we have had a lot of Chicken Littles buying up all the ammo, etc. in sight during the last year or so. We will have to see how this current supreme court case come down.

Gun control group gives Obama an ‘F’
By Michael O’Brien - 01/19/10 06:00 AM ET

President Barack Obama on Monday received a failing grade from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence for running away from gun control.

The group, which endorsed Obama in 2008, gave him an “F” on every issue it scored, including background checks, gun trafficking, guns in public, the federal assault weapons ban, standing up to the gun lobby and leadership.

“It’s been a very disappointing year for us, especially considering what he campaigned on,” the group’s president, Paul Helmke, said during an appearance on MSNBC.

When Obama was elected, gun rights supporters feared the new president would take away their guns; their worries spiked gun sales in the days and weeks before Obama’s inauguration. The National Rifle Association (NRA) said Obama would be the most anti-gun president in U.S. history.

But the Brady Campaign, a leading advocacy group for stricter gun laws, said Obama actually has done little to clamp down on firearms since being elected. Instead, the president has signed into law two bills that favored gun-rights supporters.

In 1969, journalist William Safire asked Richard Nixon what he thought about gun control. "Guns are an abomination," Nixon replied. According to Safire, Nixon went on to confess that, "Free from fear of gun owners' retaliation at the polls, he favored making handguns illegal and requiring licenses for hunting rifles."

It was President George Bush, Sr. who banned the import of "assault weapons" in 1989, and promoted the view that Americans should only be allowed to own weapons suitable for "sporting purposes."

It was Governor Ronald Reagan of California who signed the Mulford Act in 1967, "prohibiting the carrying of firearms on one's person or in a vehicle, in any public place or on any public street." The law was aimed at stopping the Black Panthers, but affected all gun owners.

Twenty-four years later, Reagan was still pushing gun control. "I support the Brady Bill," he said in a March 28, 1991 speech, "and I urge the Congress to enact it without further delay."

One of the most aggressive gun control advocates today is Republican mayor Rudolph Giuliani of New York City, whose administration sued 26 gun manufacturers in June 2000, and whose police commissioner, Howard Safir, proposed a nationwide plan for gun licensing, complete with yearly "safety" inspections.

Another Republican, New York State Governor George Pataki, on August 10, 2000, signed into law what The New York Times called "the nation’s strictest gun controls," a radical program mandating trigger locks, background checks at gun shows and "ballistic fingerprinting" of guns sold in the state. It also raised the legal age to buy a handgun to 21 and banned "assault weapons," the sale or possession of which would now be punishable by seven years in prison.

Being in Sales, you have the Telephone Tough guy that will take a stance when you are on the phone with them.
I used to call one of my customers and just tell him I was stopping in and then tell him in person what was going on.
It aways worked out better for the both of us.  Even told him he was a TTG and he agreed.
As Dee said we tend to type things and read them not how the other guy wrote them or wanted to write them but as we read them.
And I am guilty of this.  I have squared off against some of you for what I read or what I wrote and Dee was one of the first guys i got into it with over mouse guns.  I like 380, he does think highly of it as a pocket gun.  Ot her than that we agree on alot.
Well going back and re-reading what he wrote I realized after my short reply he was not challanging me but asking a question.
Ever since then I read the answer not as a challange or you dumb .......... but as questions that I try to answer and If at any time I look like I am after you I am not.
And yes I have been guilty of being a keyboard tough guy.
