TM7, yes mob rule, the most heinous of tyrannys, has a lot in common with democracy. Our constitution only works for a nation who shares a faith in a creator who endowed us with inalienable rights. A candidate who does not share that faith is least likely to defend both the letter and the spirit.

Well said & the fact that so many do not understand this helps explain why we are in such a mess.

TM-7 , no not really , we elect presidents . Many people vote for them I would guess no president is perfect for everyone who voted for him . BUT unless he lies the voters would know his convictions . Dictatorships come to power a bit different , either thru force or lie .
 You must have missed that the president should run Govt. using the laws congress passes . If he wishes to not sign then the means is aval. to by-pass him if ENOUGH support is there.
