Stubbing

Looking at your bushing, it might be a good idea to cut a couple of notches 180* out from each other on the breach end so you can use a spanner to tighten it. It would also make it easier to remove the barrel if you shoot it out.

Good idea.  Like the retainer bushing on a pump shotgun's forend.

Trick will be firuring out where to put the cuts, remember he has to make a fairly large cut in that part for the ejector notch.  Larry

Dumb question...is there any advantage to Stubbing over Reboring? I know stubbing could be a do-it-yourself proposition whereas I doubt if the average Handiholic has equipment to rebore a new caliber. Just wondering...inquiring minds want to know!

Stubbing opens these rifles up to all suitable calibers you can't get by re-boring.You have the option of many different makes of barrels and can have a perfect chamber as well...Want to have a tight neck..then cut it that way..want a tight chamber..it's yours..Want a 3 groove 28" barrel..buy it and have it done..GBO Sponsor Wayne York can either of these for you..all you have to do is pay for it..

I'll mill the ejector slot after everything is tight.  That rear bushing is 3/4" long so the the ejector slot cut
(about .125 deep) won't be an issue.
