My almost new 8" Dan Wesson 44 Mag
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:28:48 AM »
Got an 8" ported VR blue Monson 44 Mag mid 70's vintage yesterday. Only a couple issues, had to drive the shroud off due to Pb buildup, scraped it clean and coated with TC bore butter and re assembled. Had to back grip screw off 2 turns from snug to get single action, will add a couple washers under screw head. Shot 12" high at 25 yds, medium size (5/64") hex key on factory tool spun  in place so I couldn't adjust sight, burned my chili beans while I was outside fooling with it and the da** dog did not bark to tell me. Bad dog!
Ordered a non ported barrel only from Mr Dan CZ (actually Ms), $114.00 shipped, will go out Thursday. Will check delta V with chrony to tell difference between barrels when it comes, and post for those with interest.
New beans cooking, real allen wrench in hand, gonna go shoot again. Watch those beans, joejoe. Good dog.

That's an entertaining post. Thanks! Wish I could see pics on my phone.

I'm ready to buy my next one! :)
