Rossi Puma ejection problems

Goodmorning to you all i dont no if this is the right place i was hopeing icould get some info on one of my rifles.
It is a rossi puma stainless hex barrel 24 inch 12 shot i have had trouble with ejection since new replaced ejector and at times it still wont toss the shells it also requires some force to rack it back from  to time  . This rifle has less than 150 rounds put through the nearest gun smith is about 350 miles away . Apart from this i do enjoy shooting this rifle in the bush .Thanking you in advance carcano

It must be because your barrel is hexed, instead of octagon (8-sided).

Thanks for the info Rangr44 yes the rifle just might be hexed .Iwill email stevesgunz right now thanks again. How is the weather over there we just had a mild cyclone rip through here it is now expected to travel north west into the outback and start flooding some parts of the country out there.

I'm cringing, when I look at the TV reports on some of the weather situations, around the country, like snow/blizzard in Tulsa, torrrential rain in Fla, etc, etc - It's been 65-70 degrees/sunny, here in Southern New England, since the Great Flood last week.

The unfortunate souls, who have/had homes in low-lying areas along rivers here now cannot return to their recently flooded/evacuated homes, since the houses have been condemned as "unfit for human habitation" due to the sewage contamination in the flood waters permeating the structure(s).
This is in areas that haven't been wet in over 30 years - my heart goes out to them, and others in similar situations.

It is probably going to need a spring kit and some metal work.  Take it down and take a close look at what is rubbing in the area of the ejector.  Now, do the same thing with the weaker spring that comes in the kit.  Get, everything to quit rubbing with the weaker spring and you will have a rifle that will make a nice pile of brass at you feet and rarely fail to eject.

You may want to take a look at what is rubbing with the lever in place behind the ejector as well.  I posted a thread recently with some links to take down, and slicking up the action.  Not much in there on the ejector but it was my biggest problem.  I managed to figure out what needed to be done on mine by reading those links.

Reading your post it sounds like you replaced the ejector?  Mine was a .357.  It will now eject .38's, .357 with easy and the action is super smooth.  Don't be afraid to take it on yourself.  The results are very rewarding.

Thank you for the info Mat iam a hands on bloke so i will take it down and have ago at what you have suggested .Yes Dee i have replaced the extractor once already and the new one is not looking to flash either Thanks once again for the info blokes.
