"Timing", is
EVERYTHING - THAT'S for sure.
I was cruising a few funshops, today - on the prowl for some shooting supplies for my .54 capper and my .50 rocklock.
At the second stop, I was able to grab a new small/brass flintlock pan priming flask for $5
, but a box/20 of pre-lubed .54 T/C 360gr MaxiHunters cost me $10.
The THIRD stop, though - is where I hit the jackpot.
When I walked in, I didn't see much in the way of ML supplies, but asked anyway.
I'm glad I asked.................
He had several box/20's of pre-lubed .54 cal T/C 540gr MaxiHunters hidden away - that had some very old price stickers on them.
The bottom line, I bought every box he had left (10) for $30 !
The lube on the NOS bullets has dried to a yellow cake, since the boxes aren't airtight - but the caked lube flicks right off with a thumbnail, and I was able to easily lube the first box with BoreButter manually.
With those Heavy Betty's, I'm ready for Elephant !
