Remember when the movie Rough Riders came out along with saving private ryan?. the first is about the spanish american war. Couldn't find a krag if you wanted to. Had a gunsmith buddy want to buy mine. same thing with private ryan, all of a sudden  WWII firearms took off in price. The WWI stuff sat because everyone wanted what was in the movie. I have a sportered 1903A3, M1 garand and M1 carbine and ithaca 45. All 4 firearms were made 1943. Still have the sportered Krag
that I paid $180 for many moons ago it was made about 1900. Frank

Ithaca made regular .45ACP 1911A1 pistols during WWII as part of the war effort.  Only difference is they were blued (as Ithaca was already set up for it) v. parkerized like Remingtons.

Here's my sad story:  I bought a nice Ithaca .45 in the early 70's for $80 and later traded it in for $60.  Ahhhhgggggg!  :-[
