Which of your bullet styles and weight would you recommend for hunting North Carolina whitetail deer?  I will be using Ruger's SRH in 45 colt, 454, and 480.
I'm also interested in 44 magnum.

I reccomend the same weight and profile for both 44 and 45.   Our WFN in 280 gr.  Up the weight to 300 in 44, 325 in 45 if you live in big bear country or intend to hunt them with the handgun, and burn lots of powder for that purpose.  But for any deer sized game almost all game hit reasonably well will go down in its tracks or within a few feet, if your bullets are started at a very pleasent to shoot 1200 fps, with either cartridge.

If you love high power and feel you need a flat trajectory, the LFN in the same weights may make you happier, loaded to the wall.  Or load the WFN to full power if you like.  It will perform extreemly well,  but near instant kills with low recoil and noise shouldn't be overlooked by most shooters, in my opinion.

I wanted to wait on Veral's reply to this one before I posted but I have the exact mould he recommended to you in .45 in process by him now. The .452" 280 grain WFN for my .45 Colt Ruger Bisley and for use in the RB .454 as well. Altho in the .454 I do mostly use 325-330s at this time. When I get the new mould I plan to use it tho.

In the .480 Ruger I like heavy bullets. It wasn't really intended as a speed demon. I use from 400-440 grain bullets. While Veral wasn't making his moulds this one came to be. I have the Lee two cavity mould which is basically patterned on Veral's designs and another from a mould maker I will not mention due to the problems I had on the order with them. It is based on Veral's WFN design in a 430 grain weight. Neither are up to the same quality standards as Veral's moulds however. Get him to make you one in 400 grains for this one.
