What is the largest beaver you have taken?

 I am curious to know--what is the largest beaver you have taken?
 I don't want to know what others have taken(hear say --or a friend) I want to know your own largest beaver.

Whoa!  That old beaver has done found some good bark to eat!  Biggest I have trapped was about 40#, but that was a lifetime ago.......

how big was that monster rodent?did yu eat him or use him for bait?thats honestly the biggest beaver ive ever seen.

 The average weight for an adult beaver(nation wide), is 45 pounds. I consider any beaver over 50 good sized.
 From talking to others, it seems southern beaver tend to run smaller than their northern cousins. I think a lot depends on the amount of trapping that goes on in a given area.

 87 pounds is my largest.This last spring I took 4 that were in the 70's-1 at 76,1 at 74 and 2 at 72.Got dozens that were in their 60's this last spring also. They were running very large,as it had been 3 years since I had last trapped this area.

I think that has a great deal  to do with it. I have been trapping some ground last 3 yrs that had not seen a trapper in a good 10 yrs.Taken quite a few beaver 70 lbs and up biggest was 82 lbs  . my wife sayes I,m wrong it was 84 Lb

Not a beaver trapper per say like others here but my biggest so far 67lbs. I got the hide tanned hanging on the wall and a picture some where of the critter, if I can find it I'll scan it in. I have caught several others in the 50lb range and It's seems there is a point where it's hard to judge them without a scale.

60 lbs is the biggest i have ever caught, was dang lucky on that one too caught it right beside the landowner's driveway lol
