I have a couple of boxes with TC capsules - and should like to load some snake-loads.

Can you help me with a load - but I have only Vithavouri powder to use  :(

Sverre:  The VV powders listed in my VV manual in 44 mag are 320, 340, 350, 3N37, and N110; bullet weights run from 180 - 300 gn.  If you can give me some indication of the weight of your shot charge, cup included, I can give you the range of powders the manual lists for your chosen powder and shot weight.

On the box - 44 Mag Hot Shot Capsules for Contender, I can read that they recommend Bullseye 7 to 8 grains.

And:

"These capsules are for use in the Contender pistol only"

 ??? ??? ???

The Hot Shot capsules are too heavy and long for use in carbines or revolvers.  Secondly, without the special straight tapered screw-on "choke" of the TC Contender .44 Hot Shot barrel, the capsule acts as a solid projectile.  That choke actually sliced/weakend the capsule walls allowing it to open.  Not having worked with the VV powders, try to work with the one that most closely duplicates Unique.  VV itself may have suggestions on that count.
