6.5X30-30 40degree
« on: March 17, 2010, 04:01:05 PM »
If i was to have Wayne York rebore and rechamber a 223 to the wildcat,  what dies /dies will I have to buy .I am not fond of paying more than Lee dies ;D.  Since this cartridge will only be used in a Handi, how far to I have to go beyond neck sizing.     Maybe this should be in the reloading froum, but  I thought I would start here.    thanks       Doug

Tim , 4d has the base 6.5x30-30 reamer for rent. So I am at least able to do that.   Using a 22 in, 223 barrel it should get me close to the performance I Want. So the search for a 223 Handi starts now. ::)  Doug

Doug, If 6/5 x30-30 floats your boat go for it. Forget what I said in my post.
I would get a 30x30 ejecter ejecter to send Wayne to put in it.  Just my 2 cents.
I did that when I had him do my 25-35 I had to it  Best of Luck. If it is done, I
am looking for a ramge report/ Marv.

Doug,
Another approarch might be using the Lee 30-30 Collet Neck Sizer with their 25-06 collet installed. They dont have a 6.5 collet but, collets being what they are, the .257 may work. You would have to turn your own mandrel/decap stem also.
I'd be inclined to order the Collet NS die (alone, not set) and the 25-06 collet as a part.
