LAR 45 win mag
« on: March 18, 2010, 03:49:11 AM »
Ok here we go I had a fellow bring into the Pawn shop a LAR Grizley (sp) 45 Win Mag. does anyone have one and how do you like it?  I remember the 45 Mag. but it didnt catch my eye and if he leaves it I will probably only bring it home as a play toy here on the farm, or just a safe queen to show to others.  Do you like yours or not?   Jim

Jim-

I had a blue one in the early 80's.  It is really just an over sized 1911.  I liked the gun, and shot a bit of factory ammo out of it, but never reloaded for it, though it looks like a simple round to reload, like an oversize 45acp.  Don't remember the exact group size now, but I remember it was not as accurate as my S&W and Ruger 44 mags.  It was reliable, for the 3 or 4 hundred rounds I fired.  Decent kick, mostly in the web of your hand.  Sold it to buy some other toy.  Now I wish I had kept it.
