Regretably, Virginia specifies a single barrel for hunting so the express rifle would relegated to a (very expensive) plinker.

I have too of them, one a brown 54 cal from Trail Guns Armoury days, the other a 58 cal blue.  Darned if I can get loose long enough to sort them out.  Did learn to wear a long sleeved shirt for the left hand cap spitting on my wrist.

I have two questions:

First, wht's the twist in the 54?  Fast enough for a conical?

Second, how closely can you get the two barrels to shoot together?

:D   Twist is 1:48 for all of the rifle calibers if I remember correctly.  I also have the gun in the .50.54,.58,and the 12 Ga.  I have not had as good luck as a couple of the members have had with thiers, but at 50 yards I can get both bbls to print within 3 inches of each other.  The .50 likes a projo under 400 grs,and the .54 is a little over 400 grns.  My .58 likes the 505 Buf conical.  I actually got that within 2 inches at 75 yards, last year for two shots.  Still not sure how I got it.  They are a little hard to get regulated, but it can be done.  The biggest thing to remember is that they are not target rifles, but hunting rifles for game at close range.  So the groups that I was getting are fine for the ranges used.  In the .50 I was using 80 grns of 2f,and 100 in the .54.  The 58 was using 100 also with little problems.  Stay safe................King 8)  8)
