frame size for model 25-11
« on: March 18, 2010, 10:39:59 AM »
I just purchased a Heritage model 25-11 in 45 Colt.  This is the round butt model.  Can someone tell me what size frame it is (n?, k?) so I can get a larger pair of grips?

Thanks very much.

Rich

It is an N frame.
All the 20's are N's.
24 is a 44 mag
the 25 is either a 45 colt ot 45 ACP
the 28 and 27 are 357 mag
and the 29 is a 44 mag.
Try Brownells they have a selection of wood, rubber, and other materials for grips already to go on your round butt.
Some will even give you a round grip to square grip profile.

Hello Rich
It's and N-Round butt frame configuration. Until recently wood Target grips for those were tough to find. S&W is Now selling a conversion style Target grip to make the gun look and feel like a square butt revolver....Hammerdown

Not to be argumentative, but the Model 24 is a .44 Special...

Yup, it's an N-Frame.

But, K frame round grips will fit it, if Smith has done the same with the Heritage guns that they've done with all else?

My K, L and N grips are not interchangeable.
I have square butt revolvers and the K& L swap with each other but the N's do not swap with the K or L frame.
May be different with the round butts but I remember seeing the N as a seperate item in catalogs of grips.

Sorry, mcwoodduck but Smiths making all identical now. ROUND butt grips for K will fit L and N framed guns also and yes even X frames. Checkout this link from S&Ws accesories pages?

I knew the X frame was the same as the L but did not know they changed the N frames.
Hey with a different grip is it now a different frame?
