I've owned a G2 for less than a month. Came with a 30/30AI barrel.
Now I own 5 other barrels bringing the total to [now 7]..

.22 LR  blue bull 10"
.22 LR Match 14"
.30/30AckImp 14"
.357 Maximum 14"
.357 Herrett 14"
.44 Rem Mag 14"
.45/70 SS 14"

I'd probably not be able to pass up a .17H2 or a .375 Win barrel 'next'.
Just so's I'm accurately diagnosed, is this a 'hobby', a 'fever', a 'temporary condition', or a full fledged 'chronic illness'?  ;D
Sure is fun. Thankfully I had dies for all but the Herrett, and they should arrive any day.

Maybe incurable disease?  affliction?  malady?  Must be an addiction.......yeah, that's it.  It came on me slowly.  My first Contender bought in '89 was chambered in .256 win mag, therefore it wasn't long before I was reloading.  In the mean time I acquired a 44 mag octagon and a 223 10" bull.  Once I started reloading I found I was drawn to the wildcats, especially the "Contender Classics" like Herretts and T/CUs.

The last few barrels that I have added, I remember thinking "This one and maybe a 10" 22rf and I'm done".  Yep, can't think of anything else I "need".  When the 22 barrel arrived it was "This one and maybe a 7 T/CU."  Recently a 6 T/CU caught my eye so I added it to my herd.  The thought of expanding on the big bore side keeps bringing to mind "maybe a 375 win in 14 inch".  On the small end .............well I don't have a 17 anything in any of my guns so how 'bout a 17 rem?

Now to be honest with myself, I don't think it will ever end.

I have to say temporary condition, at least in my case.  I have probably had over 30 barrels over the years.  Then I was down to 13 that I said I would never sell.  That changed and I am now down to 7.  I do not know what reversed the condition, but something did.  The only ones I sold that I wished I had back was a 10" 45 colt (no 410) and a 10" 22 mag that would shoot 5 shot groups under and inch at 100 yards.

I would say it's a "PANDEMIC" ::). for which there is no known cure. I've been buying barrels since the mid-70's, and have not stopped yet. Oh it slowed for awhile (when the Encore was released) but it's back in full bloom now as I've been buying carbine barrels for that special rifle :o

I too went a lil nuts when I first bought my Contender, kid in a candy store mentality.
Then I started to have the same affliction that member Bullseye seems to have, Less might be better?
Slowly I started selling off barrels that I really didnt like shooting for one reason or another.
Now Im down to one, very happy with my decision and makes me concentrate on shooting  that caliber as best as I can, compared to shooting a few  rounds then changing guns.
I can only think of another caliber that interests me and I can't tell you why, is the 7.62 drilled to .311 Russian. ???

Yep...sounds like heavy addiction to me.  After about 40 years of it(and God knows how many barrels), I can tell you that there is no cure.  It comes and goes at times but then it sneaks back up on ya and wham...here ya go again.  On several occasions I've decided to sell off a few of the less liked(I've never found one that I just flat didn't like) barrels....well,.....then you got this "extra" money on your hands and guess what I do with that...........you got it....more barrels. ::)

Well, after the initial flurry of barrel AQUIRING [sounds like it involves less money], I'm happy with what I have. I now have enough barrels to keep me very busy at the reloading bench. I've been a reloader since 1967 but still enjoy tinkering with what I can send out a barrel. Got lots of bullets left over from other cartridges, both rifle and pistol. There are lots of .30 cal and .35 cal pills here for the 30/30AI and .357 Max and Herrett barrels. Also I've had several 458 big bore rifles and I see I have cast and jacketed bullets waiting to be used. I guess I'll start paper patching a few of the Speer 250 gr SWC swaged bullets for the 45/70 barrel. Looks like TRAIL BOSS might be a fun powder for the big 45.
I have a good bit of .44 mag stuff, many cases and some bullets. I've loaded over 5,000 rounds thru 44 pistols and rifles I've had [Super Blackhawks/Redhawk, Marlin 1894]
Time to clear the bench off!
If a DEAL comes along on a .375 Win or 17Mach II I might weaken. Thanks Ladobe for the offer of yours!

I've lost count of how many I have.  My old man is also a Contender nut, and we loan barrels back and forth so much that we can't remember which barrel belongs to whom!

After a while, the late stage sets in.  You find yourself getting lazy and hate changing out barrels everytime you want to shoot something different. Then you start acquiring more frames and stocks and forearms so you don't have to!  I'm up to 14 frames now!  And a few weeks ago, I traded into an Encore.......

Uh-Oh ..........I'm in the beginning of that stage.  I have three frames now for my 11 barrels.  Not sure how I ended up with those two latest frames.  ::)

uh oh......I had the thought of a second frame for a 'carbine'. Does that mean I'm contageous?

Sometimes I get the blues, so I do a barrel 'fix'. Shooting it makes me all better. [12 barrels\2 frames]

I'm still contageous. Traded into a 10" blue/bull today in .22 LR.
Probably the one I will thread for my TAC 65 suppressor.
It looks like it does not have the 4 holes for scope mounting. front sight is held on w/2 screws, but rear sight looks as though it couldn't be covering the 4 holes I'm used to seeing.
Did T/C not drill 4 rear sight/scope base holes on some barrels?

If it is a factory barrel it has the four holes under the sight.

I think that some of the older barrels might have come with only 3, but that still ok on a 22LR barrel.

It does have a 'split bolt' and as said, the screwed on front sight so maybe there are 4 threaded holes. The chamber sure is different than the 22LR Match barrel. The match barrel will even engrave rifleing marks on a CB LONG cartridge bullet! This standard 22LR will let a round drop in with no resistance at all.
Has anyone done side by side accuracy comparing of a 'match' vs. 'standard' chambered barrel?
