Cheap now that is me. I had some scrap 1/8 steel and a bunch of used motor oil so I made
up this waste oil burner to smelt lead. Works like a dandy and used motor oil is abundant from my garage.
I just got to tinker and I seen this idea on another forum, I just modified it some.  Boon ;D

I use a portable propane gas camp stove and a cast iron skillet from harbor freight. I also use muriatic acid to dissolve the zinc from the wheel weights before I melt them. It removes the chance of contaminating the lead with zinc. Both the acid cleaning and the smelting are done outside of course.
