What is your Go To Double Action Revolver.

What is the revolver that you always go to first?  It could be for hunting, self defense or shooting.

:-\ Tough question?????????depends on what I am doing...when I walk early in the morning before daylight, my model 60 S & W in .357...When I get in my truck to leave for the mornings hunt, it is either my S & W 4" .44 or .357...Both are loaded with Specials either .44 or 38....When my significant other and I shoot target it is with a pair of k -22's......When I travel it is usually with one of the 4" center fires...and at least one 45 auto, but you ask about revolvers....In the summer when a lot of varmits are poking around asking to be shot, I often put a varitey of sixguns in the truck for shooting...but the first three and my 45 auto, are carried maybe 95 percent of the time.......

For CCW a 329 PD Smith with a 4 in. barrel. For anything else it`s hard to tell what I`ll grab, just what ever seems right at the time.

Truck gun is a 4 inch Ruger Security Six in 357 mag. Goofing around and sometimes hunting backup gun is a 4 5/8 inch 45 LC Blackhawk. My newest hunting pistol is my S&W 500 Magnum. I have become very fond of this big pistol in a short time. Being a reloader I can make it mild to extremely wild.

For hunting and general outdoor use I carry either my Ruger Security 6 6" or 4" depending upon what I am doing.  They generally are loaded with 38 spls. For CCW I use a Taurus 2" snubby in 38 spl.  For serious defensive use I use a 12 ga Shotgun.

I don't target shoot, or hunt with handguns anymore, so this lil lightweight 38 spl.is all I pack with me anymore.I hunt and fish where there are quite a few big cats and B. Bear. Lets me concentrate more on my fishing ;D

Boy, have my 'go tos' changed over the years. The older I get the worse my affliction 'nobuttatall' is and I cant hardly keep my pants up without braces, much less a heavy belt gun.
I used to favor my long gone S&W 624X4", 44 spl, but the last couple of years its been a joy to carry S&W 442 Airweght, 38Spl., usually with target loads, in a quick clip on the belt rig. It has more thump than my old .22LR kitgun and is easy on, easy off.
For a nostalgia walk-about I sometimes grap my 1919 Colt's Army Spl.X4" in 32-20. It rides better nowdays in an old western style shoulder rig (ala Doc Holiday) and is out of the way if I need to do something.

For many years, it was my 4 inch S&W 586.  An early, three digit serial number gun, I wore the lock work out twice D/A shooting who knows how many rounds (Used to get all the duty ammo I wanted, free)  Now days, it's one of my S&W 29's.

4" Stainless Redhawk, 45 colt...kinda big for cc but where I live it's generally on the hip or in the truck..don't own anything small enough to put in a pocket.  Think maybe would be a good idea to have something along those lines though. Actually this is the ONLY double action I own, everything else is SA. Shot a friends Ruger 357 the other day, nice little gun, it was a five shot, about 3in barrel, which model would that be? I think that would work nicely for a CCW.

For me it is the 4" S&W M28 I reworked into a 45 ACP.  Did the work back in the 80s, carried it as a duty gun and ever since.  Great revolver and a good cartridge together in a good package.
