No difference between parties ?
« on: March 22, 2010, 02:03:51 PM »
While I have lost a great deal of respect for the Republicans in recent years, the Democrats have been eating out of the grease trap since they nominated George McGovern for prez in 1972 !
The most freedom-robbing, Constitution-trashing bill ever to see the light of day,... is by this day, all but signed into law !

  PLEASE NOTE:::

  A) Only Democrats voted FOR this travesty ! (by 100%)

 B) Only Republicans voted AGAINST it ! (again, by 100%)

  Things proven by yesterday's vote;

 A) The idea of independent minded, "Blue Dog" Democrats ...is a myth.

 B) A fellow can go from STUPAK ..to..STUPID...in a very short time !

 C) "Blue Dog" simply means, " I'm holding out a little longer so I can collect more "goodies".

D) To the DNC words such as integrity, honor, decency, freedom, constituents,  and courage..are foreign words that are found only in "other people's" dictionaries.

 E) Below; see the wicked witch of the west, laughing at we American's worst nightmare...come true.
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

I like the Republicans and I'll continue to vote for them across the board.  I blame those who don't for our new "Health Care" plan.

I agree with you fully Ironglow, even if you are "baiting" the "usual suspects" to tell us that Benjamin Franklin would disagree and its better to "vote for a winner, who loses every time than a loser who always wins" :D.  Even the founders who wrote our Constitution had to make compromises for it to be ratified, and Franklin made plenty himself to insure we would be supported by the French Navy during our first revolutionary war!
I'll not vote for a candidate who has a "D" by his name, or a Republican who is a RINO or a "career politician".
Brace yourself, next comes "immigration Amnesty" to replace all the votes the Democrates  will lose after this health care debacle!

Last time I looked the dems were the only ones that believed murdering babies was birth control, and that homosexuality was just another lifestyle, instead of an abomination in Gods eyes like the Bible says. Just a few examples. YEP, theres a big difference. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

There are some in the Rep. Party that are just like the Democrats or at least just wanna be "bipartisan". I have seen what bipartisan is, its going along with the Democrats. Ever seen any Dems being bipartisan?

No there's difference! We just saw it yesterday!

IG I agree with you the republican party has lost its compass in the past few years but not all have been lost. Conservatives are what we need to step up! A republican can be a conservative but a republican ain't necessarily a conservative.

We really had the misfortune of mcain being the Republican candidate. but he was by far the lesser evil! given the two candidates and knowing what i know now i'd vote the same way tomorrow.

Quote
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., appeared on local Arizona radio station KFYI-AM 550 this morning, urging opponents of health care reform to “keep up the fight” with demonstrations and challenges of the bill’s constitutionality.

McCain said he was pushing the repeal of the bill, and said he was opposed to how the bill was “resolved on a pure partisan basis with a majority” of the public opposed to it, “done in the most unsavory Chicago sausage-making that I’ve ever seen in the years that I have been there.”

"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," McCain said. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."
“Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

There were about 34 dems that did vote against that. But be that as it may there were 3 republicans that voted for it in the senate. Oly Snowe and her partner from Maine and one from New York. There are factions in the republican party that are progressive liberals. We need to stop the poisoning of the Republican party because the Dems are already poisoned to the point of no return. I will vote for anyone who believes as I do. If there really is such an animal. Sometimes it seems like there is no difference on certain votes of bills. But the platform of the two parties is very different. There is more on the platform to like than not for me. Hope, pray, stay informed, vote and stay involved!!! Steve

   Honestly Jager;
Although it seems like it, I wasn't aiming at the folks who are concerned with voting for lesser or not lesser. I posted this because I have heard so many recently say "there is no difference"..when if you look closely, truly there is !
You will note my first sentence..."I have lost a great deal of respect for Republicans in recent years". I have only distain for Republicans who try to out-Democrat the Democrats.

   But generally speaking there are differences, great differences. Consider how each party looks at each of the following items;

 A) Small business.

B) Taxes.

C) Right to Life.

D) Keeping the "gay agenda" from infecting the military.

E) Illegal immigration.

F) Welfare.

G) Law and order.

H) Fending off Socialism/Communism.

I) The global warming fraud.

J) A propensity to punish US troops in lieu of terrorists (refer, 3 SEALs and Murtha's "cold blooded killer" Haditha Marines).)

K) Christ honoring.

L) An "axe to grind" with Christians.

M) Freedom of choice in education.

N) Political correctness censorship & tyranny.

O) Friend of ACLU & ACORN types.

P) In bed with trial lawyers.

Q) Preserves hunting/fishing rights.

R)  Closes parks & public lands to hunting/fishing.

S) Keeps alive the "global warming" fraud.

T) Continually trying to undermine our right to Keep & Bear Arms..

Those are just a few differences just think about them and how either party is related to the statement...
...And while neither party is great and I won't be part of either one , it is patently obvious..THEY ARE NOT THE SAME !!!

There are differences. They come to light now that the republicans are not in power.
When they were in power, the differences were minimal.  Republicans know how to play the game.
I don't know if they have been hurt enough to change, that would remain to be seen.
Trusting them is hard.

I do not assume that the Republicans are inherently better than the Democrats simply because of their stance on HC, as most of them did not vote out of idealism.

There are a number of "me-too" Republicans, some even pro-choice, that do not deserve support simply on the basis of their party affiliation. The only reason I would not give to the NRCC is that my $ will be used to keep or place a pro-choice Republican in office.

But as I am learning from y'all, a fight is only worthy if its winnable. Convictions and ideals are insufficient motivators for risk. So the next time I see 6 samoans beating the crap out of a tourist, or fellow servicemember, I'll just move along. Its unwinnable, no matter how right it might be.

I believe they should invite all the dems and republics a free vacation on an ocean liner. It should sail out to the middle of the ocean and the boat should be sunk with all those skunks aboard.

Yes! There is a diff. in the two parties. The Democrats have "ZERO" Constitutionalists in their party.
The Republicans have ONE..................."BIG Diff"

If you go by the Republican platform, there is a big difference, but the problem is.They don't adhere to that platform. Especially the part about standing for smaller Government.

PMAN, you must've misread my post. I AM pro-life, which is why I will not give $ to support a pro-choice candidate. The NRCC does not care about the platform, they just give to whomever needs the boost, and there are pro-choice republicans who get $ from them and I can't tell them not to give to them.

No difference between parties, huh ? Let's just return to a few points and I'm not talking about "platforms", I'm speaking about actual   historical record of the last four decades !

 1) The "global warming" fraud.

 2) The Political correctness censorship and tyranny.

 3) The "hate crimes" legislation, where a "progressive" judge can put someone in jail..for what he THINKS they were THINKING.

4) Trying to turn the military into a "gay" playground.

5) Trying to push Socialism/Marxism into our government.

 6) ACLU enablers.

 7) Continually trying to take our guns.

Now; let's get back to basics..ready? 1..2..3..4..start..Having read each of those ugly points , which party generally has pursued passage of these points..and which party has fought them for 40 years and more ? If you can say "they are exactly the same", perhaps you had best take some reading and/or history lessons.

I am not a Republican and I don't intend upon being one, but to say there is only one Constitutionalist among them is disingenuous, at best.
But let me guess....the ONLY Constitutionalist among the Republicans is....Ron Paul !  Now, how in the world did I guess that ?

Have you bought your prayer shawl..you should have one before you take communion at Ron Paul's altar ?

) Trying to turn the military into a "gay" playground.

YEP. This weeks TURRETT, a free Ft Knox newpaper, had an article that the Army will now allow same sex couples to transfer together so the family won't be broken up. Used to be married hetros only. Good point IG. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

Those 7 points you bring up pretty much spell Liberals, and both parties are full of them. One example (#7) Gun grabbers.........Inter GUN GRABBER , and Presidential contender  Jaun McCain.

And by the way! I didn't mention Ron Paul (you did), but I give you credit for knowing the only one who still believes in the Constitution!

As far as worshiping at the alter Of R. Paul.........I don't worship at the alter of any man, or any political party, as some do.

Those who say there is no difference between the Dumbycrats and the Republicans have either voted for Dumbycrats in the past and don't want to admit it, or they seize on the fact that there are indeed some squishy Republicans.  Since Zell Miller quit, I don't know of any Dumbycrats that are anything short of a virtual communist in their philosophy.  If that's too harsh, show me where I'm wrong.

Well, not me Magooch.  I'm just a guy that has never been registered or attached to either party, voted most of my life for republicans cause they were the more conservative than the others.  Then they got power, and were not so conservative anymore...they got the boot, which was how I thought it was supposed to be when the people you vote for go south..??  The other "worse" party got control...nothing new to you guys, the "worse" party had control of Congress for 50 years plus, so you all should have been used to that anyways. Now the republicans have a chance to get back in there and they likely will.

If they go south again...we'll vote em right back out...aint my fault...aint your fault...it's pretty much their fault.  Nobody is ever going to tell me how to vote again,  and yes...the "worse" party will take over again, like they have for most the last 50 years if the republicans all start acting like democrats again.

Why don't you just blame the republicans instead of conservatives for being losers?
Yes, republicans are better than the dems overall....but it's not my fault if they are poor conservatives and can't hold a seat in congress just cause they are only a little better.  Why don't McCain just join the Dem party instead of tainting the republican party...ask him that, not me.  It's not my fault the republican party has been infiltrated by weak little panzies that turned out to be corrupt politicians like all the rest.

I think we might have taught some of them a lesson...maybe...we'll see...if not...get used to things getting worse, I for one am willing to let it all go to hell and am tired of watching it go to hell slowing under the "better" party.  I want it all to hurry up and go south in a hurry, so it can be fixed properly by starting completely over.  Because I really do feel like the corruption is so deep in Washington that there is no other way but to start completely over.  I'm too old to mess around on the slow train, give me the fast one, at least I know what I am fighting for sure...the dems don't try to hide it.

Thanks for the rant.

I find it very interesting how some here diverted (hijacked?) the thread from what Nutsy Pelosi and the Dems did to us..to faulting and criticizing those who voted AGAINST this monstrous/Marxist growth in government.
It is almost as humorus when we hear people essentially say that out of 300,000,000 Americans, only one man is fit to be elected president !

No you are wrong! 300,000,000 Americans and NO ONE is fit.   ::)  but they will vote for someone who has no prayer of being elected.  ;)

The only Democrat I may have voted for, had I been born a few years earlier would have been JFK.
Not really sure, as I was under 21 and serving in the US Army at the time. Up until the last election the only Presidential candidate I have voted for was Republican. After the news media, and the RNC turned their backs on the only conservative running on the Republican ticket, I voted for the Constitution party candidate. I still kick my A - - for voting for GW, but I was still brainwashed into party politics. Party politics is to blame for us being in the shape we are in today.

No one can think for themselves anymore! They seem to need a party to cling to..........To do their thinking for them! Problem is......these people (Dems & Reps)only care about themselves, not you and I.

I voted for that sorry piece of crap.....GW Boosh. Look what he gave us for our support! Undeclared war's, the Dept. of Homeland Security, and the continuation of  open borders, so criminals can invade our country and steal what few jobs we have left.

When the new criminal in charge sends his thugs to arrest you for not buying health insurance..........You party members can thank GW for providing him with a police force (DHS) to make the arrests.

A few Squishy Republicans!..............Now that's funny right there, I don't care who you are.
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.
