Looking for manufacture date for a model 29-3. Ser# A6 1X---. Your help will be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

There is something not right about the number you gave.  The serial number should start with S,N, or a 3 letter prefix.  The A is probably correct for a 29-3, but it should be followed by 2 other letters, then numbers after that.

Yes, I did have the wrong #. The SER# is AHF 67**. Thank you so much for your trouble! I'm just so happy with this revolver as my wife got it for me for our aniversary! She is a keeper!

The 3 letter prefixes are a little confusing, as they weren't always used in order.  the best info I can give is between mid 1985 and late 1986.   You can call S&W and get an exact month.
