I love Remington products. That includes Marlin & H&R. I buy new ones and examine many of them on the shelf. The quality is very very high and it always has been. The Model 700 is the best centerfire boltgun made and the 870 cannot be beat at any price. I'm glad Remington bought up a bunch of companies and I wish they'd move them all down south. We like jobs, do good work, and only ask for a fair wage.
There are no (and never have been) any quality issues. I'll keep buying Remington, Marlins, and H&R products because they have no equals.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't NEF importing Pardner Pump shotguns from China?
And Remington owns Marlin, NEF and H&R?
This is from the H&R site...
"In November of 2000, the Marlin Firearms Company purchased the assets of H&R 1871, Inc. Marketing its products under the brand names of Harrington & Richardson® and New England Firearms®, H&R 1871, LLC is currently the largest manufacturer of single shot shotguns and rifles in the world."
Now I live in the South and work in a machine shop, and it's true we need jobs, it's true we could do as good or better job making them than any yankee shop. But yankees are Americans last I checked, and I wouldn't want to take their jobs and put fellow Americans out of work.
I like Remington products, too. Just bought an older 870, and 700's are at the top of my list. Designed by Americans, and American quality can be the best in the world.
But I see a lot of American firearms and optics companies beginning to import from China, Remington is not alone in that, Ruger imports Chinese air rifles, and some Leupold products are coming from China too.
That's hurting American jobs, and we should let these companies know we don't like it.
Just my opinion.
