Hearing protection advised!
« on: March 27, 2010, 02:04:38 PM »
Got my Bullberry 8" 45-70 barrel yesterday!  It's a real beast!  I can't believe that I can hit the side of a barn with it, much less shoot a nice 1' group with it at 100 yards!  I'm grinnin' ear to ear!

I'm really surprised that the barrel shoots that well.  I'm not a particularly good shooter, but the quality of the barrel is excellent!  1" group and I was gritting my teeth and squinting!  It's definately a bucket of giggles!

Holy cow!

You GOTTA try black powder in that thing! What a fireball that would be!!

If you don't mind me asking, what'd you have to pay for that one? That would be about perfect with a nice 2" radial brake in front of it...

 ;D

I've already shot some Real Black Powder through it!  Big BOOMER!  Lotsa smoke and sparks!

No muzzle brakes for me, I don't like them!  They spit too much for me.

I ordered the barrel 9 months ago while they were on sale.  $203.00 delivered.

Dang, as Homer Simpson would say, "Doh!"

Wonder when the next "sale" is?

Don't know.  Wish I could have ordered a dozen or so in some of the wildcat calibers and a 2 or 4 half dozen in common chambers.  $$$ you know!  I purchased 5 barrels while they were on sale.  Long wait, but fantastic products.  Wish they would advertise here.

That is a nice lookin setup. I wonder what the Hornady red tip 45/70s would do with that eight inch pipe. Congrats on the new handcannon!

Don't know, but I did shoot a Sprite can with a factory Federal 300gr HP at about 20 yards.  It literally disapeared!  I figure it burried up into the dirt bank behind.  I didn't look for it.  My brother in law was standing there when I shot the can, he said "You vaporized it"!  ;D

Not a bad idea!  I might switch to a steel Leupold dovetail base for some extra holding powder, or just take the scope off and reinstall the rear sight.  Might not be a bad idea to go with 3 rings also.

This could be a good test to see just how tuff all that hardware is by seeing how long it will stay put!

I've got a couple of Leupold's, just that there are mounted on my other barrels.  I had an extra aluminum base and rings, just thought I'd mount them on there to shoot for a group or two.  Now that I know that it will shoot, I'll sturdy things up a bit.
